About this experience
After a short twenty-minute ferry crossing you will reach Mgarr Harbour, which immediately sets the pace to Gozo’s unique atmosphere. Your guide will lead you around the Megalithic Temples of Ggantija, the oldest free-standing monuments in the world, pre-dating the Pyramids of Egypt. This will be followed by visits to the medieval citadel in Victoria, the fjord-like bay at Xlendi and Dwejra. Gozo is well known for its crafts, particularly handmade lace and knitted garments. Visitors cannot fail to be impressed by the island’s lush countryside, its serene atmosphere and how different it is from the larger island of Malta.

Full Day in Gozo
The tour was well organized and kept to a schedule. I enjoyed seeing the Neolithic ruins of Ggantija and the citadel in particular. Lunch was satisfying with a few choices. Rita provided a lot of information and looked out for the needs of the group.

Gozo in a day.
Interesting trip, but it’s a very long day. We saw a lot of Gozo and it’s history. Worth dong, I think.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour. We will make sure to pass your comments along, we always aim to improve our tours to better satisfy our clients.

Fantastic ancient history from a formidably long day.
What was advertised as an 8 hour trip took nearly 12 hours. Thirty people was too big a group and guide’s English too fast and difficult to understand. A group of about 10 would have been preferable. We had to wait in a queue for about an hour to catch the 20 minute ferry ride to Gozo from Cirkewwa. Bus to north end of Malta took longer than expected and the fast ferry from Valletta to Gozo would have been a much better option. In spite of all this we managed to enjoy the history, most sites visited and good companionship.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour. Occasionally, especially during the current peak season, the ferry may be unable to board all passengers due to capacity or operational issues. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control. We will make sure to pass your comments along. We always aim to improve our tours to better satisfy our clients.

Gozo history
The tour itinerary was good, nice places to visit. However, I had a hard time following the tour guide. It was not clear what we were visiting, what the story around it was. Also, it was hard to hear him unless I was standing beside him.

I was expecting to be...
I was expecting to be picked up at our hotel, but this was changed at a day’s notice so we had quite a walk. I also thought we would be in a small group. We were on a full size coach which was full. When at the archaeological museum it was chaos. Our guide tried to shepherd us around the exhibits among other parties and individuals. We couldn’t see what she was talking about or hear her. There was no time to look around the exhibition ourselves.

Why this scores 47
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full-Day Gozo Island Tour from Valletta: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mellieha.
How much does Full-Day Gozo Island Tour from Valletta cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mellieha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full-Day Gozo Island Tour from Valletta take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mellieha is not rushed.
Is Full-Day Gozo Island Tour from Valletta worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 36 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mellieha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Gozo Island Tour from Valletta?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full-Day Gozo Island Tour from Valletta suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full-Day Gozo Island Tour from Valletta?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mellieha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mellieha and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full-Day Gozo Island Tour from Valletta start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mellieha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mellieha?
+
On Outty we rank every Mellieha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gozo All Inclusive Chauffeured Tuk Tuk Day Tour - Blue Lagoon, Malta: Gozo Full Day Buggy Tour with lunch and Comino Stop, Gozo Quad Bike Day Tour - All-inclusive + Blue Lagoon. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mellieha?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mellieha?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
