Fabulous experience, be prepared to get in and out of longtail boats!

The whole day was fabulous! The boat is so gorgeous, the staff so friendly and helpful, the food was great. With this boat, you need to get on and off, in and out of long tail boats to reach the shore. If you have mobility issues, you may need to choose a different boat, but even so, the crew are lovely and helpful.

Disappointing in almost every way - no snorkelling and a long 3 hour ride to the first stop

There was no shade except for inside and down the back and a 3 hour trip resulted in a beach where we were invited to climb to a view in the heat of a scorching day. I expected a snorkel within a marine park but no it only offered 2 hikes up steep steps and a quick swim at the beach and also a jump off the boat on the way back. So many smokers on board and my allergies were kicking off! The only good thing was the food as the tour guides were in disagreement all day. It felt very chaotic with little structure and some language problems made it difficult to understand what we were expecting. If you smoke and drink and are happy sitting around hot most of the time it will be fine but no real swimming or snorkeling at all, and not a lot of shade in the boat !

Possibly the most boring boat trip I have ever been on.

Got on the boat 09.00 returned 20.15. Spent about three hours ashore and the rest of the time on board sailing with nothing to see. The most boring cruise I have ever been on. This is also the slowest boat I have ever been on. Literally saw one animal in the marine park - a bird. No snorkelling opportunities for a marine park. Getting ashore is hazardous - you first have to get on a cramped long tail boat and then get to the beach via a floating pontoon which is an absolute nightmare. For a marine park it’s strange that the long tail boats spew out diesel fumes. Strange they’re worried about sun cream and the coral but don’t care about the diesel. The stop to see the salt lake involves a really steep climb up some poorly maintained steps - more like climbing a ladder for 500m. Coming down is even worse. On the small beach is a smoking area ffs - it’s a marine park. In fairness the staff on the boat are lovely. There is plenty of food and free soft b drinks on offer. But the boat is tired and could do with updating. I definitely cannot recommend a trip on Red Baron. I always take a boat trip whenever I’m on holiday but this is definitely the most boring I’ve ever taken.

Trip is not explained very well, which is disappointing

Staff and ship wonderful, stops on the day not good. Definitely only for able bodied people as you have to climb on and off the vessel each stop. NO SNORKLING which is disappointing. Stop 1 if you want to go to the viewpoint it's 500m uphill. In the words of our guide... It's a hike, or you stay on the beach. Stop 2 the Emerald Lagoon only accessible if you climb 150m up very dangerous stairs, if not stay on the very overcrowded small beach with Diesel fumes for an hour. Trip is definitely not explained very well and I'd struggle to recommend this trip to anyone.

    Great Day Out

We had a great day out with Ella and the crew. Looked after so well. Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks before leaving the boat. Soft drinks all day. Staff worked hard, but always had a smile. Thanks so much

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Koh Samui.

How much does Full-Day Cruise to Angthong Marine Park by famous "The Red Baron" cost?

    +

Prices start at $122 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Koh Samui usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day Cruise to Angthong Marine Park by famous "The Red Baron" take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Koh Samui is not rushed.

Is Full-Day Cruise to Angthong Marine Park by famous "The Red Baron" worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 45 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Koh Samui, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Cruise to Angthong Marine Park by famous "The Red Baron"?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full-Day Cruise to Angthong Marine Park by famous "The Red Baron" suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Cruise to Angthong Marine Park by famous "The Red Baron"?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Koh Samui can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Koh Samui and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day Cruise to Angthong Marine Park by famous "The Red Baron" start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Koh Samui within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Koh Samui?

    +

On Outty we rank every Koh Samui experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angthong National Marine Park VIP Small Group Tour, Cooking Class in Koh Samui with Micro Organic Garden, Half Day Elephant Home Sanctuary in Samui. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Koh Samui?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Koh Samui?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
