    Beautiful trip!

We booked this last minute and it was amazing! We saw a delightful village, an entertaining and engaging chocolate factory and a delicious cheese factory. Our guide, Gabriel, was terrific and packed a lot into the trip without feeling rushed. It was great way to see beautiful Swiss countryside.

    Gabriel was a great tour...

Gabriel was a great tour guide. It was a cozy ride - not a very large group. Half day. The Appenzeller area/town was really beautiful. I wish we could spend a little more time there.

Response from the operator: Thank you, Nabil, for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your tour and appreciated the smaller group atmosphere. We're especially happy to know that Gabriel made your experience memorable with his great guidance and service. The Appenzell region is indeed a beautiful area, full of charm and unique scenery. We hope to welcome you again on another KeyTours adventure, perhaps with more time to explore this wonderful destination!

    False advertising

The description said we would go to St Gallen. When booking the tour I messaged the operator to see if entry to the cathedral was included and based on the response I purchased tickets for the cathedral. However, the tour did not go to St Gallen at all. This was my primary reason for booking the tour so I was very disappointed. The driver was very nice.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify that our tour description does not state that the itinerary includes St. Gallen. We encourage you to review the published itinerary on the booking page, as it accurately reflects the destinations visited during the tour. If you received information suggesting that St. Gallen was included, we kindly recommend contacting Viator directly to review the messages exchanged at the time of booking, as they can verify the communication and assist you further. We appreciate your kind words about our driver and will be sure to pass them along.

Cheese, Chocolate and Beer ...what's not to love!

Perfect for a rainy day, we took a very clean , new bus with 3 other couples to the cheese factory, Appenzell and Chocolarium. The driver got us where we needed to go safely and handled all the tickets for the tours. Would have preferred to had more time in the town to explore and maybe catch a bite to eat. I would recommend if you take this tour to rush through the cheese factory to the gift shop to get a charcuterie board and beverage, otherwise you will be hungry. Make sure you do try the brewery in the town as the beers are most excellent. Chocolate factory was neat to tour, make sure you bring home some for later, my friends are still remarking on how good it was. Tour bus driver just drives the bus, no conversation or commentary. No big deal, but just a heads up if you are looking for history or backround, you will get it all from the factory tours.

Response from the operator: Dear Mary, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the comfort of the bus, the organization of the day, and the visits to the cheese and chocolate experiences as well as Appenzell. It’s also great to know you appreciated the overall ease of travel and the smooth handling of tickets throughout the day. We also take note of your comment regarding the time available in the villages. Your feedback is very valuable and helps us continuously improve the balance between guided visits and free time. Thank you again for your recommendation and for choosing Keytours. We hope to welcome you again on another excursion in Switzerland. Best regards, The Keytours Team

From Zurich: Chocolate, cheese & countryside small group tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zurich.

How much does From Zurich: Chocolate, cheese & countryside small group tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zurich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Zurich: Chocolate, cheese & countryside small group tour take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zurich is not rushed.

Is From Zurich: Chocolate, cheese & countryside small group tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zurich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Zurich: Chocolate, cheese & countryside small group tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Zurich: Chocolate, cheese & countryside small group tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Zurich: Chocolate, cheese & countryside small group tour?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zurich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zurich and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Zurich: Chocolate, cheese & countryside small group tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zurich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Zurich?

    +

On Outty we rank every Zurich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Zurich Food Tour with 10 Local Delicacies, Cheeses & Chocolates, Private, excellent guided tour of Zurich (from CHF 21/pers.), Zürich Historic District Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Zurich?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Zurich?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
