Scottish Highlands was an unforgettable experience!

I had the pleasure of embarking on a 5-day tour of the Scottish Highlands, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! Our guide, Fraser, was nothing short of fantastic! Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of the Highlands, but he also had a great sense of humor that kept the group entertained throughout the journey. His storytelling brought the landscapes to life and made every stop feel significant. The tour included visits to some of the most breathtaking places in Scotland. From the rugged mountains to serene lochs, each location was more beautiful than the last. The itinerary was well-planned, allowing us to explore a variety of sites without feeling rushed. Each day was packed with adventure, yet there was still enough time to relax and soak in the stunning views. Overall, this 5-day tour of the Scottish Highlands exceeded my expectations. The combination of an engaging guide, incredible scenery, and a thoughtfully crafted itinerary made for an enriching experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the beauty of Scotland!

What an incredible five days in the Scottish Highlands! Every day was unforgettable, from the breathtaking scenery of Glencoe and the Isle of Skye to learning about Scotland's fascinating history and meeting the Hairy Coos! Our guide, Fraser, made an amazing trip even better. He was friendly, knowledgeable and a fantastic storyteller. He also knew exactly where to stop for the best views! I couldn't recommend this company and the five day tour highly enough. If you're thinking about exploring the Scottish Highlands, this is absolutely the way to do it!

    Amazing Experience and Tour

We just finished our 5-day tour with The Hairy Coo and it was an incredible experience. We got to visit so many amazing places throughout the Highlands. We are from Mexico and were truly impressed by the service they provided, especially Ryan, who was our driver and took care of guiding us throughout this road trip and explaining every single place we visited — even the places we only passed by and didn’t stop at because they weren’t part of the tour. He also always recommended great food options in every place where we stayed overnight. He was extremely attentive to the whole group and very kind throughout the entire trip. If you will travel to Scotland and have the time take any tour with them please dont hesitate to consider it. Thanks Ryan and Hairy Coo Team, we really appreciate your service. Regards from México

    Best Decision I’ve Made

Had an absolutely wonderful 5 Day tour with The Hairy Coos! Our guide Fraser was excellent and kept us all well informed and entertained with his fantastic storytelling ability and knowledge. We saw the most incredible sights and went on the most stunning walks to places so old and historic it just blows your mind that you can stand in these places. It sounds exaggerated but it’s true, something about the Highlands has changed something in me. I would do this exact tour all over again in a heartbeat.

From Edinburgh: 5-Day Isle of Skye, Oban, & Highlands Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Edinburgh.

How much does From Edinburgh: 5-Day Isle of Skye, Oban, & Highlands Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $569 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Edinburgh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Edinburgh: 5-Day Isle of Skye, Oban, & Highlands Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Edinburgh is not rushed.

Is From Edinburgh: 5-Day Isle of Skye, Oban, & Highlands Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 99 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Edinburgh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Edinburgh: 5-Day Isle of Skye, Oban, & Highlands Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is From Edinburgh: 5-Day Isle of Skye, Oban, & Highlands Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Edinburgh: 5-Day Isle of Skye, Oban, & Highlands Tour?

    +

Around 35 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Edinburgh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Edinburgh and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Edinburgh: 5-Day Isle of Skye, Oban, & Highlands Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Edinburgh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Edinburgh?

    +

On Outty we rank every Edinburgh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Edinburgh: Loch Ness, Glencoe and The Highlands, Edinburgh: Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glencoe & Fort William, Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands, Glencoe and Pitlochry Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Edinburgh?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Edinburgh?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
