The Classic Choquequirao Trek is an awesome option for true adventurers, history lovers, and nature enthusiasts. You’ll head off the beaten path and away from other tourists as you venture through the incredible scenery along a rarely traveled trail to a real archaeological gem. Join us as part of a group or as a couple. Choquequirao trek is an exciting alternative trek to the Inca Trail. The lesser-known ruins of Choquequirao feature similar architecture and layout to the more famous complex of Machu Picchu. The fact that you can only get there on foot, however, means that far fewer people visit this incredible site.

Unforgettable adventure with Huayna's expeditions on the Choquequirao Trek
We chose Huayna's expeditions for our Choquequirao Trek and it was the best decision we could have made. From the beginning they were professional, well organized and very responsive to our needs and wishes. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and shared interesting information about the flora, fauna and history of the region. The meals our chef prepared were delicious and nutritious - just what we needed after a long day of hiking. The scenery on the Choquequirao Trek was breathtaking and varied, and reaching the ruins of Choquequirao was an absolute highlight. We highly recommend Huayna's expeditions if you are looking for an unforgettable and well-organized adventure in Peru.

Breathtaking experience
I took along with my family the five days trekking to Choquiquerao with Huaynas Expeditions. This was an amazing experience that I'm glad I could share with my loved ones. I highly recommend the experience: it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be exposed to incredible views of the surrounding mountain ranges, hard but rewarding walk led by a great Huaynas Expeditions team. Choquiquerao ruins are not comparable to Machu Picchu but still the journey is unforgettable. One rediscovers the pleasure of discovery trips. Huaynas Expeditions did a phenomenal job ensuring every detail was taken care of, and we can't wait to go back again!

This tour was awesome! Thank you especially to Juan, our tour guide.
Fantastic and well-planned travel itinerary. The views were spectacular and the support from our guides, muleteers and cooks was excellent. Maybe the only tour that proposed a full day in site (trust me, after hiking to the site you will enjoy a day wandering and resting a bit !) The park was amazing, and it was a great time to go with no crowds Communications before the trip were excellent, answering every question quickly and providing information we did not even consider. We did quite a few other things in the Cusco area on our trip but our trek was the highlight of it all. I would recommend Huayna Expeditions and use them again if/when we return.
Response from the operator: Dear Leonard, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review of your trip to Choquequirao, we love to hear about our great staff and services. we really appreciate it and We hope to see you soon, take care! Kind regards, Huaynas Expeditions Team
