Leave the city behind as you pedal into America’s largest urban forest – Forest Park. Carved into the slopes of the West Hills, cruise the stunning car-free gravel path which traverses the entire park and offers a scenic half-day trip all within city limits. The 11 mile bike and pedestrian path through the 5000 acre park is enshrouded with towering trees. Catch glimpses of the city below as you zip through the temperate forest. Return the way you came or head over the St Johns Bridge into North Portland for amazing views of the West Hills and the Willamette River from Overlook. 28 miles - This tour appeals to fit beginner cyclists and experienced gravel riders on our Carbon Gravel Bikes as well as our Gravel E-bikes.

St. Johns Bridge
With its 1,207-foot span suspended between soaring, seemingly delicate, Gothic arch towers of steel the bridge is quite impressive. It was the longest suspension-type bridge west of the Mississippi River when it was completed in 1931. Long heralded as the nautical entrance to Portland. This bridge takes us into North Portland and the former city of St Johns.

Forest Park gravel tour is great!
Highly recommend the Forest Park gravel ride. Our guide Kevin did a great job sharing info about the ride and Portland, and making sure everyone in the group was doing ok. Bike was in great condition and he made sure it was adjusted as needed for fit. Forest Park was beautiful and the ride there/back was a nice chance to see different parts of Portland.

Bike ride
We had a great guided bike ride through Forest Park with Charlotte! We rode e-bikes and it was a very casual pace. A very nice way to see some of the city and experience some of the local nature. Charlotte had a lot of interesting stories to share about the history of the park and other Portland lore. 10/10 recommend!

Gravel bike rental
Rented a gravel bike w the Hifi wheel upgrade for a couple of big days in Forest Park and North Plains (highly recommend the NPGM-L route on ridewithgps!). The bike was perfectly dialled. Fantastic service. 10/10 recommend.

Super awesome E bike adventure in Portland
Renting Adventure E-bikes from Cycle Portland was the best decision we made on our visit to this beautiful city. As soon as we walked into Cycle Portland, my husband and I were greeted by Charlotte, whose friendliness and knowledge of the city bike trails helped us have an awesome biking adventure! Charlotte suggested the Forest Park bike trail which was so much fun we rode it twice! The Adventure E-bike by Giant proved itself with a long battery life (I still had 53% at the end of a four hour ride), lots of power and comfort with front suspension. Charlotte adjusted the bikes to for both of us to ensure a proper fit and provided bike locks and helmets for our adventure which we sure appreciated. We also appreciated the recommendations for restaurants and coffee bars by Charlotte and the staff at Cycle Portland. We highly recommend Cycle Portland to anyone looking to bike Portland’s awesome trails and street bike lanes. -Kim & Eric
