    Fun time!

We had an amazing time on the fishing excursion. The guides were helpful and clearly invested in trying to get the fish to bite! We had a few catches and even got to enjoy one of my fish being made into fish tacos afterwards since we were staying at the hotel/bungalows.

    Catch of a Lifetime

We booked a 4 hour trip through our resort and it was a great experience. Pick up was at 6:40 am and the driver arrived on time and was friendly and professional. Arrived at the Maroma Beach location, checked in quickly and within 15 minutes were matched up with the crew for our trip. There were 5 of us on the boat and 3 crew members. The boat was clean and designed for fishing. Captain and 2 mates were amazing and went out of their way to make sure everyone had a turn sitting in the fishing chair and reeling in! We were trolling and hooked 2 mahi mahi fish quickly. We then moved into deeper water and all of the sudden had another hit....90 minutes later with all 5 adults taking turns we actually pulled in a Blue Marlin! The crew worked along with us the entire time to make sure that fish ended up on the boat!!! The fish was 132 inches long and weighed about 400 pounds....the biggest fish I have ever seen caught and we have fished all over the world for years. We not only have a fish story to share with family and friends but in a few months we ill have the fish hanging on our wall. The crew made all of the arrangements for us with the taxidermy department and made it a trip to remember.

    Good trip

I’ll start with the good. Guide/capt were great informative knowledgeable and most importantly they put us on to fish. We caught a few mahi including one really big one, big cuda and a bonito. The bad, on TripAdvisor It states live bait was included and I remember reading that we would troll and bottom fish. When we get there guide let us know they’re licensed only for trolling using cut bait or plastic. No live bait or bottom fishing allowed. Crew then guilt trips you into letting them keep most of the catch and not to forget a good tip lol. Over all pretty good experience since we caught some nice fish.

TWO jack (late April Sunday 13:00)

Anglers Club Shared Fishing Trip (4hrs), transfers included in afternoon tour. They do have a great team, always responsive and are helpful on Whatsapp and email. But check in was not smooth, many places would require the name and confirmation no. (if required) as normal but they actually needed the copy of my receipt (even I booked direct with them, they wanted a screenshot of that transaction receipt?? to complete the check in for us) so it took me awhile to dig/find that for them as I was not aware and we had booked through quite a few things for our journey and already all arranged sometimes ago. They did the safety/ briefing with all other guests (some other people had private trips booked) before heading to the dock. This was a trolling fishing: We were 7 of us as passengers (not Max.6!) + the captain and 2 guides. Weather was good, but rough waves on the way out even one of the guides said that was normal condition for them, my partner is an enthusiastic fisher (here in West Canada so he's used to the ocean, had been in 10" wave etc) but he felt sick because of that.. Total 2 jacks were caught in this tour, not sure why they kept the second jack without sharing it. By the time we returned to their reception, there was a bit of time to refresh before taking their shuttle 17:30 back to where we stay.

    Needed another 2 hours!

That was my 5th Offshore trip, and once again there were seasick passsengers. If you have tendencies to that, take something before you go. Anyway, the crew and Captain were great, we got into 3 very big fish, a Marlin, a very big Mahi Mahi and a massive Salifish. The first 2 got away, because they crossed our lines and got tangled. We couldn't react fast enough, as they were basically beside each other when we got them on. The Sailfish however was on for an hour, we kept taking shifts trying to get it close enough to release (we agreed beforehand to live release anything significantly large), but when it got fairly close it snapped the line. We didn't really have enough time to get it in as this fish was an hour in to the fight and still very strong, and we were near the end of the charter time (the shuttles have a designated time to depart), and we had to tighten the drag to the point that it couldn't take any more line, and we couldn't reel it in any further, and the line snapped. The Captain up in the flybridge, said he saw it was a Sailfish, and thought it was about 150 kg. It would have been cool to get a pic. Overall great trip!

Fishing Tour & Beach Club In Riviera Maya: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.

How much does Fishing Tour & Beach Club In Riviera Maya cost?

    +

Prices start at $145 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Fishing Tour & Beach Club In Riviera Maya take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.

Is Fishing Tour & Beach Club In Riviera Maya worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 60 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Fishing Tour & Beach Club In Riviera Maya?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Fishing Tour & Beach Club In Riviera Maya suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Fishing Tour & Beach Club In Riviera Maya?

    +

Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Fishing Tour & Beach Club In Riviera Maya start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?

    +

On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
