    Great experience for Travelers

Gianandrea gave us an amazing tour of the property and was so informative on both the complexity of how the property is used as well as the wine making process, stopping to let us try grapes off the vine, pet and see the horses, and explaining the deep history to the property and ongoing archeological interest with the proximity to the Pompeii ruins. Anthony (aka King) was beyond informative of the wine notes and flavors as well as the rich history behind the process for each wine. The entire staff was exceptionally welcoming and the service was amazing. would highly recommend to anyone in the area even a little curious!

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed discovering the history of the property, our winemaking process, and the unique connection with the archaeological heritage of Pompeii. It was a pleasure for Gianandrea, Anthony (King), and the entire team to welcome you and share our passion for the estate, the vineyards, the horses, and, of course, our wines. We truly appreciate your kind words about our hospitality and service, and your recommendation means a great deal to us. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back again in the future! Best regards, Margherita

    Bosco De’ Medici Winery Tour

We were a group of 8, 2 families with 4 teenagers. We had an amazing time touring Pompeii then finished off with a wine tasting and lunch at Bosco De’ Medici winery. Sabrina was our tour guide during our golf cart tour around the property and tasting room. She was fun and informative and also helped us finalize our wine and olive oil purchases to be shipped back to the US. Obviously, since we shipped wine home, the wines were fabulous and the lunch was one of the best we had while visiting Italy.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted that your group enjoyed the golf cart tour, wine tasting, and lunch at Bosco De’ Medici. We’re especially happy to hear that Sabrina made your experience so enjoyable and the fact that you shipped our wines and olive oil back to the US is truly the best compliment. We hope they’ll bring back happy memories of your time in Pompeii. Thank you for choosing Bosco De’ Medici, and we hope to welcome you back again! Best regards, Margherita

    Perfect memories

What began as a wine tasting became one of the most memorable experiences of our trip, thanks to our incredible hostess, Sara. Her warmth, flawless bilingual guidance, and genuine passion brought the winery, vineyards, and horses to life in a way we’ll never forget. Five stars simply aren’t enough—she deserves every accolade possible.

Explore Pompeii: Private Tour, Wine Tasting & Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pompeii.

How much does Explore Pompeii: Private Tour, Wine Tasting & Lunch cost?

    +

Prices start at $95 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pompeii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Explore Pompeii: Private Tour, Wine Tasting & Lunch take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pompeii is not rushed.

Is Explore Pompeii: Private Tour, Wine Tasting & Lunch worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 89 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Pompeii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Explore Pompeii: Private Tour, Wine Tasting & Lunch?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Explore Pompeii: Private Tour, Wine Tasting & Lunch suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Explore Pompeii: Private Tour, Wine Tasting & Lunch?

    +

Around 31 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pompeii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pompeii and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Explore Pompeii: Private Tour, Wine Tasting & Lunch start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pompeii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Pompeii?

    +

On Outty we rank every Pompeii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Minivan Trip from Rome: Pompeii Tour & Lunch in Sorrento, Skip the Line Guided Tour of Pompeii Led by an Archaeologist, Explore Pompeii with an Archaeologist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Pompeii?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Pompeii?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
