  2. Jaisalmer

Visit in two authentic Thar Desert villages. You will reach there by jeep. Within just few minutes from your arrival the news will spread through the village that a guest arrived. Children start approaching curiously and shouting greetings, women look shyly from far away while men welcome you in their village and ask about your life and family. Because of the remoteness of these villages, locals are not used to having visitors hence it is always a special occasion when guests arrive. You will spend some time walking around the villages with some chai breaks. After that you will have a chance to taste a traditional lunch prepared for you from local ingredients in one of the families houses. Don't forget to capture those amazing moments on photographs but please ask people before making their portraits.

    300 minutes here

  3. When your visit in the two villages is complete, you'll transfer to another point for the desert safari, where camels will be already waiting for you. Watching the sunset from the dunes is an unforgettable experience. As the sun sets, the sky and sands change colours to create one brilliant spectacle. The air becomes chillier and it seems as if the whole desert is preparing for the night. As the night emerges you can clearly see the starry sky without any light pollution. You will reach back to Jaisalmer by 10 PM.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Magical experience in the Thar Desert

An exceptional excursion from start to finish. We started with a visit to abandoned villages and ruins in the middle of the desert, then a secluded fort in the middle of nowhere — a unique atmosphere. The camel ride through the dunes was incredible: total silence, beautiful scenery, and we didn’t meet anyone. The best part: the campfire dinner prepared by our guides Abdullah and Kabir (with Abdullah’s son). Homemade Indian vegetarian cuisine, wood-fired chapatis, sunset and starry sky... just magical. Adorable guides, authentic experience, unforgettable memories. Maximum rating without hesitation! 🌅✨

Best day adventure in Jaisalmer with Kabir

Excellent tour guide Kabir. Visited lots of villages and met lots of beautiful local people. Saw village life and ate lunch at Kabirs home. Was delicious. Very hospitable and warm friendly people. Camel riding was excellent. Clean camels John and Simon and very nice guide Abdula and his son. Very good photos taken in great sand dune spots. Best experience in Jaisalmer.

Village Tour

FIFU offered us something to drink beforehand, explained the trip, and provided other important information. Our guide, Kabir, then took us in a cool jeep to his home, the Rajasthan desert. The four-wheel drive allowed us to reach remote villages. The local people everywhere welcomed us warmly and showed us how they live. We even got to help one family prepare lunch and eat it there. We were just too far away, which of course made the experience even more personal. All in all, a fantastic and authentic experience. Everything went smoothly with FIFU-Trafel, and Kabir was a great guide with a lot of experience in the desert. Highly recommended, very personal and authentic. Thank you very much!

End of the day in the Tahar Desert

We just returned from a magnificent camel safari in the Thar desert The camel Abdullah leads us to isolated dunes and away from the sound of jeep safaris! And here we witness a magnificent sunset in breathtaking colors and in the greatest calm. Meanwhile Abdullah and our driver prepare us an excellent meal that we will enjoy in the moonlight. Not to mention on the road visit Fort Khaba at the foot of one of these many villages deserted in one night by all their inhabitants We recommend Fifu Camel Safari for their kindness, authenticity and seriousness of organization

Experience the peace and beauty of the desert.

As guests of the Meri Haveli Hotel in Jaisalmer, we had spoken to the owner of the hotel, Mr Kewaliya, called Fifu, about our wishes regarding a trip to the desert. We wanted a quiet trip away from the big tourist crowds, with a short camel ride and especially a quiet meal during sunset in a small group. All our wishes were fulfilled and it was a very individual excursion with a friendly driver and a meal for six under a clear starry sky on sand dunes. On the way there were three short stops, which were not too long or commercial. The camel ride initially took place in the plain with sand and bushes, but in the end we actually reached the sand dunes. The food was delicious and we tolerated it well. We felt very comfortable. For us, one of the highlights of our trip to India. Thank you.

Experience Authentic Desert Villages & Sunset Camel Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Jaisalmer.

How much does Experience Authentic Desert Villages & Sunset Camel Safari cost?

+

Prices start at $3250 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jaisalmer usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Experience Authentic Desert Villages & Sunset Camel Safari take?

+

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Jaisalmer is not rushed.

Is Experience Authentic Desert Villages & Sunset Camel Safari worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Jaisalmer, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Experience Authentic Desert Villages & Sunset Camel Safari?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Experience Authentic Desert Villages & Sunset Camel Safari suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 12-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Experience Authentic Desert Villages & Sunset Camel Safari?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Jaisalmer can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jaisalmer and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Experience Authentic Desert Villages & Sunset Camel Safari start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Jaisalmer within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Jaisalmer?

+

On Outty we rank every Jaisalmer experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Overnight Camel Safari - Sleeping under the Stars, Adventure non touristic camel safari, Non-Touristic overnight Camel Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Jaisalmer?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Jaisalmer?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
