Great way to see a lot in one day AND have a swim at Pont Moniz

Renato was very knowledgeable of the nature and culture in Madeira, and he loved sharing that with us. He was also a very good driver - not a small thing on Madeira’s winding roads. The tour felt a bit long, but it was much more convenient than driving ourselves or spending many days to see the different highlights of the west of the island.

Response from the operator: Dear Cecilia, Thank you so much for sharing your review and for choosing Feeling Madeira to discover the west of Madeira. We are happy to know that you enjoyed the opportunity to explore so many of the island's highlights and to experience the natural swimming pools of Porto Moniz. It is particularly pleasing to hear your kind words about Renato, both for his knowledge of Madeira's nature and culture and for his driving skills on our winding mountain roads. We appreciate your observation regarding the duration of the tour. Our full day itineraries are designed to provide a comprehensive experience of the region while allowing guests to visit a wide range of significant locations, and we are grateful for your perspective. Thank you once again for your trust. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Madeira in the future. Kind regards, Feeling Madeira

    Memorable, fun & informative day

Lineal our guide was brilliant, so passionate about his home, interesting & fun. He drove safely & the other attendees were all so friendly, especially to me as a solo guest. Plenty of interesting places, but sadly due to the dangerous conditions of the sea, I wasn’t able to swim in the sea pools. However, the crashing waves were spectacular. Thank you for such a memorable day

Response from the operator: Dear Alison, Thank you so much for choosing Feeling Madeira and for sharing your review. We’re happy to hear that you had a memorable, fun and informative day, and that Leonel’s passion, friendliness and safe driving made the experience even more special. We’ll be sure to pass along your words. It’s also wonderful to know that the group made you feel welcome as a solo traveller. Thank you once again for your preference. Warm regards, The Feeling Madeira Team

Great trip to the West. Of the Island

We expected it to be cold in the mountains it wasn't. Lot of great photo opportunities. Never felt we were pushed for time. Renato was an excellent guide, certainly knew everything about Maderia, very very informative. The mini bus was new and very clean, but a bit cramped if you had long legs.

We were picked up at the...

We were picked up at the arranged time. Unfortunately the sound system wasn’t working properly so it was virtually impossible to hear the commentary. We were recommended a lovely restaurant for lunch was great value. The guide and driver were very nice. We saw all the advertised places and had enough time to explore them.

Response from the operator: Dear Jane, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us!🌟 We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the recommended restaurant and appreciated the lovely service from our guide and driver. We do apologize for the issue with the sound system — this is certainly not the standard we aim to provide, and we will ensure that this is addressed for future tours to enhance the experience for our guests. It's wonderful that you were able to explore all the advertised places and had a good time overall. We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you back to Madeira for another memorable experience.🌟 Best regards, The Feeling Madeira Team

Exorbitant West Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Funchal.

How much does Exorbitant West Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $41 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Funchal usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Exorbitant West Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Funchal is not rushed.

Is Exorbitant West Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 71 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Funchal, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Exorbitant West Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Exorbitant West Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Exorbitant West Tour?

    +

Around 25 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Funchal can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Funchal and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Exorbitant West Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Funchal within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Funchal?

    +

On Outty we rank every Funchal experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jeep Tour Amazing West to Natural Pools -Full-Day, Porto Moniz, Seixal, Fanal Forest, Cliff Skywalk in Open Roof 4X4, West Tour-Fanal Forest & Porto Moniz Natural Pools Small Groups. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Funchal?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Funchal?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
