Nothing prepares you for these views. Alpine made it effortless

My planning with Alpine started two months before we landed in Nepal. This was our first multi-day hike, and I was organizing it for myself and a group of four friends. I wouldn't call myself an easy client by any means. I had a lot of very specific requests and customizations. After a week of searching, I came across Badri, and I truly feel lucky to have had him and Alpine plan our trip. He took every single request into account and went above and beyond to give us exactly the trip we wanted. From booking our lodging at Mountain Lodges of Nepal to arranging last-minute heli rides when the Lukla flights became uncertain, Badri left no room for error on what turned out to be a perfect trip. On the trek, we were blessed to have Umesh, our dal bhat-loving guide. He was exceptional, supportive, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable about the Khumbu. He and our wonderful porters, Shankar, Lokendra and Yam, were simply fantastic. Since it was our first multi-day hike, they made sure we were comfortable every step of the way and that we achieved everything we had planned. Nothing prepares you for the moment you're first surrounded by Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam, with 6,000ers, 7,000ers and 8,000ers towering all around you. It is truly breathtaking, and there is nowhere else in the world you can see views like these. If you're thinking about taking the leap into multi-day trekking, this is the perfect first trek, and Alpine is the team to do it with. Thank you, Alpine, Badri, Umesh and the whole team. We hope to be back for Gokyo, Langtang, EBC and many more! This trip will forever remain in our hearts.

Lifetime experience without the craziness of EBC

Went for the Everest view trek just at the start of the season. My brother coordinated the whole thing with Badhri and he said it was great and he was very responsive and accommodated as many requests as possible. Once we landed in Kathmandu, Umesh was there to pick us up and had a cheery smile with a positive greeting. We had 2 days of waiting at KTM the whole day and couldn’t get on a flight to get to Lukla due to traffic at KTM and had to eventually take a heli. Umesh made the effort to then meet us there the next day! The trek itself was fantastic, MLN lodges were phenomenal. There was barely any crowd at the trek at the start of the season. Permits and admissions were covered. I would highly reccomend buffer days before and after your trip for flights to and from Lukla. We did a 6 night trek in 4 nights due to our delays so do the longer one! We had a great time and a memorable trip!

Everest View Trek: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Everest View Trek cost?

    +

Prices start at $1,950 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Everest View Trek take?

    +

Plan for about 168 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Everest View Trek worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Everest View Trek?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Everest View Trek suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 168-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Everest View Trek?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Everest View Trek start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kathmandu Sightseeing | UNESCO World Heritage sites Private/Group, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek: Private Group & Discounte Price. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
