Amazing Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Lakes Trek!
I had an absolutely excellent time on the Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes trek. Everything was incredibly well organised from start to finish, and our two guides, Chhiring and Sanjeet, were brilliant — extremely professional, knowledgeable, and so friendly throughout the journey. The trek itself is a fantastic challenge, and the scenery is nothing short of spectacular. Every day offered something new and breathtaking. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure in Nepal. I’ll definitely be back to Nepal very soon!

Fantastic trip amazing support
This was a trip of a lifetime. The trip was extremely well organised and staff very attentive to detail. The trek was challenging but the guides were very supportive and ensured we hydrated and ate well. We did not feel rushed and had plenty of time to take photos etc. the views are breathtaking . Such a beautiful country. The staff made us feel like family. They helped me to achieve my goal of reaching Everest Base Camp which far exceeded my expectations. I did it. On the way back at Namche I became ill and the staff organised a rescue helicopter to hospital where I was very well looked after and staff came to check on me everyday and helped organise everything. I would highly recommend this company. Their attention to detail is exceptional eg supporting with purchases and hire equipment before the trek. The guides, porters, ground staff are an amazing team. You will be very well looked after if you choose this company.
Response from the operator: Dear Theresa, Thank you for your lovely feedback! We're delighted to hear that you had such a wonderful experience with us. It was truly a pleasure to support you and we're especially glad to know our guides made you feel well cared for throughout the trek & our ground handling staff to take care of you while in the hospital. We’d be thrilled to welcome you back for another Himalayan adventure soon. Until then, take care and see you again!

Amazing support throughout
We used this guiding company for our EBC trek. Their service was the best I have experienced. The guide team had lots of experience and never made us feel under pressure eg to walk faster. The porters were ‘heroes’. They carry such heavy loads but then come back to help eg if a rucksack needs carrying. In our group, I had to come down from Lobuche with AMS symptoms. This was organised with minimum fuss. Similarly, my partner had to be helicoptered down and treated in hospital. This was organised very quickly with the best possible support to get us through a difficult time. Thank you so much everyone in the team.
Response from the operator: Dear Paul, Thank you for your lovely feedback!

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Everest Base Camp trek - 16 days: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.
How much does Everest Base Camp trek - 16 days cost?
+
Prices start at $1577 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Everest Base Camp trek - 16 days take?
+
Plan for about 384 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.
Is Everest Base Camp trek - 16 days worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Everest Base Camp trek - 16 days?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Everest Base Camp trek - 16 days suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 384-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Everest Base Camp trek - 16 days?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 384-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Everest Base Camp trek - 16 days start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?
+
On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kathmandu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
