Great Everest Experience

Buddhi is the only man worth dealing with for this trip. I had four ‘operators’ telling me they could do this and only Buddhi delivered as promised. I think all others are just agents trying their luck. Buddhi is also a charming man and does not seem to understand the word bulls**t coz he doesn't know any. Very well organised and very cheap for what it is. Views were breathtaking. I’ve been to Everest yay.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking our(Himalaya Holiday Service Pvt. Ltd.) Helicopter flight to Mount Everest base camp and writing the Great review following the lifetime trip to the highest mountain. It was a great pleasure working with you. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Regards, Buddhi Bhatta Owner Whats-app + 977 9851214548 (24/7 in Nepal )

Amazing

The Everest flight was truly an amazing experience - Buddhi was my travel arranger and even helped me to rent a down jacket for the trip. We had an amazingly clear day and the views were just breathtaking. I highly recommend this trip, if coming to Kathmandu- it is a must do. Yes, it is expensive, but it is an experience of a lifetime.

An experience of a lifetime

Despite taking off in the middle of the Monsoon season, our helicopter ride delivered all we were expecting and more.. Our day started early at 2pm with an airport pickup. We were supposed to arrive the day before but lengthy flight delays meant that we were later. Buddhi and the driver picked us up immediately and drove us to the hotel where we caught a couple of hours of rest. They waited for us, rather than go home and at 6am we headed to the airport. Despite the rainy season, the sky was blue and the helicopter ride to Lukla fantastic. We then took off again to the base camp where we were able to see the mountain even for few minutes! As the clouds were closing in rapidly, we skipped the Everest View Hotel and spent more time in Lukla, walking around and being amazed at the landing of an airplane one of the shortest runways we have seen. The ride back was also beautiful. Being only three of us, we switched seats and had prime view of the mountains, forests and rivers! This was our second time we tried to make this trip (the first was cancelled due to regional events). Himalaya Holidays Service proved to be an excellent choice for this unique experience, and the constant communication with Buddhi a reassuring thing before and throughout the day.

Excellent!

We had such an amazing experience! Buddhi was incredibly responsive and thorough in helping us book and plan for our Everest helicopter tour & landing at Kala Patthar. He was so thorough and helpful in making sure we understood everything and had what we need. The helicopter tour was outstanding--a real highlight of our time in Nepal. The views of the Himalayas (including Everest!) were breathtaking. Getting to walk around at Kala Patthar is something I'll never forget. Buddhi was incredibly knowledgeable about all things Nepal--we had such amazing conversations about religion, local customs, the history of Nepal, etc. Our experience was excellent! Definitely recommended!

An amazing and outstanding experience

Although we have been in Nepal during Monsoon season, which normally means many clouds and rainfalls, we managed to do the trip - after 12 days awaiting better weather conditions! Buddhi, our organizer, checked carefully every few minutes, if a flight was possible and confirmed us to fly only by nice weather. And it was really worth of it: We had an amazing experience! First we flew with the helicopter to Lukla, then from there to the Sherpa village Dingboche. There we were separated from the other three co-travelers who flew with us, and we (a couple) got the chance to fly alone to Khala Patthar, where we could finally see Mount Everest, Nuptse, Changtse. Afterwards we flew back to Dingboche and our co-travellers was brought to Khala Patthar/Everest. Then we flew back to Lukla for filling up the helicopter with kerosine, and then we had a nice Tibetan breakfast at a typical Sherpa accomodation. We felt very safe during the flight. You could sense that the pilot, his name was Yachnit from Air Dynasty Heli Services has excellent flight skills and is very careful about everything! Besides, he was very kind to take some pictures of us at Khala Patthar. Furthermore, he told us many interesting things about the mountain tourism during the flight. Thank you deeply for an outstanding experience! We would definitely recommend this trip - ask for Buddhi and Yachnit!

Everest base camp flight over by Helicopter from Kathmandu: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Everest base camp flight over by Helicopter from Kathmandu cost?

+

Prices start at $1598 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Everest base camp flight over by Helicopter from Kathmandu take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Everest base camp flight over by Helicopter from Kathmandu worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Everest base camp flight over by Helicopter from Kathmandu?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Everest base camp flight over by Helicopter from Kathmandu suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Everest base camp flight over by Helicopter from Kathmandu?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Everest base camp flight over by Helicopter from Kathmandu start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
