    About this experience

Our sunrise whale watching is a relaxing and peaceful experience. At this time, the bay is calm and usually there are not many boats around, the animals are also in a different mood and the views and colors you can see in the sky are breathtaking. When whale watching, we are normally the only boat doing the activity which makes it a very private and intimate experience. It is our most popular and our favorite time to do whale watching because it is beautiful waking up to witness so much beauty

Best whale watching in Cabo San Lucas

I had several amazing trips with this company. They sail respectfully in the whale area. Few guests on the boat. Great sights. Thank you!

    Unforgettable sunrise and active whales!

We had the most incredible time on our sunrise whale watching tour! The whales were so active, jumping and breaching right in front of us. Seeing a mother whale with her baby was a memory we’ll never forget. A huge shoutout to Ceci, our guide, who made the whole experience even better with her knowledge and energy. If you’re in Cabo, this is a must-do! - Alessandra y familia

    Great sunrise cruise

We did the sunrise whale watching cruise and it was amazing. Sunrise was beautiful and also less boats on the water. We saw whales, dolphins and sea lions. Tata was our captain and Cecelia was our guide. She is very informative about all of the wildlife. We also got professional photos from her from our day. We loved the smaller boat with the small group. We would do this tour again!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Experience — The Highlight of Our Entire Cabo Trip!

If you are on the fence about which whale watching company to book with in Cabo, stop reading and book with Proyecto Cetáceo right now. My wife and I just returned from their Educational Sunrise Whale Watching with Photos Included tour, and I cannot say enough incredible things about this experience. Hands down, it was the single best moment of our entire trip to Cabo and that is saying a lot. From the moment we stepped on board, it was clear this was not your average tourist whale watching excursion. This is a company that genuinely, deeply cares about the animals they share the ocean with, and that philosophy changes everything about the experience. Our guide, Cecilia, was absolutely phenomenal. Her knowledge of whale behavior, biology, and conservation is extraordinary, but what truly sets her apart is her passion. You can feel it in every word she speaks. She wasn't just reciting facts — she was sharing something she loves with her whole heart, and it made the entire experience so much richer and more meaningful. We left feeling not just amazed, but genuinely educated and inspired. And then there is Captain Tata a true professional and, more importantly, a true conservationist. The way he approaches the whales is unlike anything I have witnessed. He is incredibly respectful and deliberate, always positioning the boat on the side of the whales in a way that makes them feel safe and comfortable rather than crowded or threatened. Here is the thing most people don't realize: when you respect the whales and give them space the right way, they actually come closer to you because they feel safe. Because they trust what's around them. We experienced this firsthand, and the photos we captured as a result were absolutely jaw-dropping closer, more natural, and more breathtaking than anything I ever expected. The hydrophone was a beautiful touch that I didn't anticipate loving as much as I did. Hearing the whales beneath the surface their actual sounds and communications added a layer of connection to these magnificent creatures that brought a few happy tears to our eyes. It's one thing to see a whale; it's another to hear one. To anyone choosing between companies: go with the one that respects the whales. Not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it will reward you with a richer, more intimate, more magical experience than you ever imagined. Proyecto Cetáceo is that company. Cecilia, Captain Tata, and the entire team are exceptional, and my wife and I will be talking about this morning for the rest of our lives. Book them. You will not regret it for a single second.

    Perfect sunrise morning tour

Cecilia was so great as a guide. We learned a ton about the wildlife and geography of the area. We saw sea lions, a shark, and then more whales than we could possibly count! They just kept swimming by in all directions. It was by far the highlight of our trip to Cabo, and we shared with many others back at our resort about this great company. We will be back!

Educational Sunrise Whale Watching with Photos Included: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Los Cabos.

How much does Educational Sunrise Whale Watching with Photos Included cost?

    +

Prices start at $144 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Los Cabos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Educational Sunrise Whale Watching with Photos Included take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Los Cabos is not rushed.

Is Educational Sunrise Whale Watching with Photos Included worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 44 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Los Cabos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Educational Sunrise Whale Watching with Photos Included?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Educational Sunrise Whale Watching with Photos Included suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Educational Sunrise Whale Watching with Photos Included?

    +

Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Los Cabos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Los Cabos and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Educational Sunrise Whale Watching with Photos Included start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Los Cabos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Los Cabos?

    +

On Outty we rank every Los Cabos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ziplining and UTV Desert Adventure from Los Cabos, Cabo 4x4 ATV Tour with Tequila Tasting and Mexican Buffet Lunch, Cabo Beach Camel Ride, Mexican Buffet and Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Los Cabos?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Los Cabos?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
