Enjoying the nature of the Karavasta National Park and sightseeings nearby

The tour with Izet was wonderful: even if there were few unexpected things, like the a long traffic jam to leave Tirana and to return to Tirana, and the Roman Amphitheatre was closed, what we have seen had overcome our expectations! We visited Durres, the port, we saw the Roman Amphitheater from outside, then Izet brought us to see the Fortress of Bashtove, which is in the tentative list of UNESCO sites. Then we went to visit the Karavasta National Park, the birds near the see were lovely and it was wonderful to see the free horses near the sea, it was like a dream, so touching. Izet kindly offered us some local fruit. It was a wonderful and unforgettable day, thanks for everything Izet!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your beautiful words! I’m truly happy the journey exceeded your expectations, even with the unexpected traffic and the amphitheatre closure. Durrës, the seaside horses, the rich birdlife of Karavasta, and the historic Fortress of Bashtovë make an unforgettable route, and I’m glad you felt its magic. It was a pleasure sharing Albania with you and being part of your experience. Thank you for your trust and recommendation — I would be honored to welcome you again! Warm regards, Izet

    Great scenery

This trip was awesome. It was wonderful to drive through the countryside. Izlet explained many things as we went along the drive. He told me many things about Albania that I would not of learnt otherwise. There is also a musuem near the lagoon and we visited that together. We took 2 different routes so I was able to see more of the country. After the lagoon we drove to Durres which a port city. We also visited the amphitheatre in Durres.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed the drive through the countryside and the chance to explore more of Albania’s history and culture. It was a pleasure sharing the lagoon, the museum, and the ancient sites of Durrës with you. Taking different routes to show you more of the landscape made the day even more special. I truly appreciate your kind words and hope to see you again for more adventures!

Amazing experience combining history and nature

We are happy to highly recommend this tour hosted by Izet who has a lot of knowledge about the historical aspects and a genuine love of nature. He went above and beyond to make it a great tour catering to our interests and energy level. He showed us extra things plus used two different routes there and back so we could be exposed to different scenery. Durres is an interesting port city and beach town with ancient sites just interspersed throughout the modern. Karavasta Lagoon is really a world class a wetlands area. Izet also provided a snack of delicious Albanian fruits. We felt like we had made a good friend by the end of our day with him. You can feel confident that you will receive a great value from this tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! It was a true pleasure spending the day with you and sharing the rich history of Durrës, the natural beauty of Karavasta Lagoon, and the lesser-known corners of Albania. I'm glad you appreciated the different scenic routes and the local touches like the fresh fruit — I always aim to tailor each experience to my guests' pace and interests. Your kind words about feeling like you made a friend mean a lot to me. That’s exactly the kind of connection I hope to create on every tour. I truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to explore even more of Albania one day!

    +

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tirana and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Tirana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tirana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Tirana- Hiking Tour to Bovilla Lake & Gamti Mountain, From Tirana / Durres: Gamti Mountain and Bovilla lake Day Trip, Kruja castle, the old Bazaar & Sarisalltik- Departure from Tirana. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tirana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tirana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
