Mar was amazing and the food was over the top awesome. She took us to different spots all over Polanco and each place didn’t disappoint. Gonna be referring this to all my friends!

Excellent food tour
This was a very good experience, very authentic. Eduardo did a very nice job of explaining everything to us in good detail, at the market and in the kitchen. I would definitely recommend this if you are interested in Mexican food in any way. I don't really cook a lot, but enjoyed the class and lesson in the food preparation.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! I am so pleased that you enjoyed the Mexican Cooking Class with us.

Awesome cooking class, and would do another!
I did a cooking class with this company, and I'm so glad the I ditched the pyramids to spend my time on this instead! Everything about this company and the class is great. Starting with their office teams communication, to the market tour (you help with all the shopping which is super fun) and cooking class itself, through to the end where they take the time to get your feedback on the day. I did my class with Eduardo (Lalo) who I would definitely ask for, as he's not only a great chef and teacher, but a really nice guy to spend a number of hours with. Coming from a catering/hospitality background in Australia I cannot fault the time I took for this class in any way. And not only did I learn about Mexican food, but a lot about the people and culture at the same time. Do the class everyone! You won't regret it! Jock
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for such a great review! We work really hard to offer the best food experience in the best possible way, I am happy to see that reflected on your visit with us. We’ll make sure to pass on your great comments to chef Eduardo. Hope to see you back soon :)

The tour guide was very unprofessional...

The tour guide was very unprofessional. Not only that she was late, she was on her smart phone text messaging all the time. Her knowledge of the subject was very rudimentary and willingness to show us the markets close to 0. We had to force her to go to the meat section of the market. It made her unhappy. We only had stopped at two stands one with cheese and the other with exotic food grasshoppers. Than we went for few tacos of barbacoa pulled pig and one old corn muffin. Finally she dropped was at the artisan market 100 meters away saying goodbye. No explanation, no introduction, no guidance. The scheduled at least 3 hours tour was cut to less than 2 hours. With her limited command of English and attention to in and out-going text messages I wonder if this could be a blessing. For everybody thinking to pay 60 per head for this tour simple advice. This is rip-off. Do it on your own for 10 and will see more, enjoy it better. All owners of the stands are very pleasant and will help you to taste and give explanation up to their best potential paying undivided attention to the client.

Downtown Mexican Food and Market Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does Downtown Mexican Food and Market Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Downtown Mexican Food and Market Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is Downtown Mexican Food and Market Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Downtown Mexican Food and Market Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Downtown Mexican Food and Market Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Downtown Mexican Food and Market Tour?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Downtown Mexican Food and Market Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Teotihuacan 3 Pyramids Tour + Hotel Pick Up + Lunch at La Gruta, Historic Center Essentials: Mexico City Downtown Walking Tour, PREMIUM Frida Kahlo Museum and Xochimilco (Small Groups). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
