Hot dog a donut and a yogurt for $155
My personal experience wasn’t a good one with this food tour the tour guide was a nice lady at times it was hard to hear her on the street but for a food tour the value was terrible $155 for a hot dog donut and a yogurt I understand that food is more costly in Alaska than other states but if your gonna charge people that much your not doing the right thing! You should and have to do better! your better walking around the city as your own tour guide and go to the restaurants you like it’s a small downtown area so it’s not much territory to cover Save your money don’t do this tour !!!

However, we do want to clarify the food and value included in the experience, particularly since you chose to leave the tour before the final stops. Had you completed the tour, one of the remaining tastings would have included a seafood sampler featuring Alaska sockeye salmon, Alaska halibut, an Alaska king crab cake, along with a locally crafted beer. We’d also like to clarify some of the earlier tastings mentioned in your review. The “hot dog” was a locally made Alaska reindeer sausage using locally raised reindeer. The donut was a handcrafted fireweed-glazed donut—fireweed is one of Alaska’s most recognizable wildflowers—and comes from a local Anchorage institution whose donuts have received national recognition from Food & Wine magazine. The yogurt was a house-made parfait from one of Anchorage’s highest-rated breakfast restaurants, featuring house-made yogurt and granola with Alaska blueberries when in season. Our tour is designed to be more than simply walking between restaurants. The experience combines local food with Anchorage history, storytelling, and an introduction to Alaska ingredients and locally owned businesses. We completely understand that every tour isn’t the right fit for every traveler, and we appreciate the feedback. We just wanted to provide some additional context so future guests have a complete picture of what is included in the tour.

Great food/history tour
Carole was our guide, and it ended up only being my sister and me that afternoon. We had a great time, and appreciated Carole's sense of humor and knowledge of Anchorage food scene and history. Carole will not disappoint! We enjoyed the combo of eating and learning about Alaska. Only suggestion would be instead of the fireweed donut, maybe Samovar or Birch for something with more flavor.

Mediocre tour
With a better guide, it could’ve been a much better tour. God sort of ramble and also didn’t speak loud enough so it was very difficult to hear especially since we were walking through rather busy downtown area. Several of statements she made were just incorrect and others were rather misleading. She didn’t seem to have a very deep knowledge of most of the topics and we could’ve found them ourselves on Google. Food samples are merely OK. Yogurt parfait from Snow city was very one of them now. The fireweed doughnut was interesting that nothing we would ever get again. The reindeer hotdog are not great, but interestingly, there were two food stands side-by-side serving hotdog. One of the stands had a very long line and that was obviously quite popular. Our tour, however, a reindeer hotdog at the stand with no line. Perhaps there is a reason that there are no customers that stand. And lastly, we had some samples of salmon attic, and a crabcake at another restaurant. These were interesting but not outstanding and the sample certainly didn’t tempt us to eat there. Oh, in all, it was a nice walk and had some interesting points, but was not an outstanding tour
