Lovely trip.
Amazing experience, the team onboard were really knowledgable and knew exactly where to go’! We first saw pilot whales and sat and watched them until they passed, we then got some dolphins who swam upto the boat and where jumping around us! The team never once got too close to any wildlife and let them approach us. I would 100% recommendations excursion.

Not impressed ans would not recommend
Wasn't impressed with this trip at at all. It 1.5 hours to transfer from the hotel to the port: we hadn't been told about this. The boat was crowded and we found the main deck (which was inside) hot, clammy and airless: there was no outside space that we could use. The food was average. The majority of the crew were nice and helpful; we thought the guide was good especially her transitions between languages We felt the photographer was grumpy/rude towards people who didn't want to buy photos. With the exception of seeing the pilot whales, it was an uninteresting trip.
Response from the operator: Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed seeing the pilot whales and that you found most of our crew friendly and helpful, particularly our guide's multilingual commentary. We are, however, sorry that other aspects of the excursion did not meet your expectations. Regarding the transfer, the journey time depends entirely on the location of each hotel and the number of scheduled pick-up stops. Guests staying in the north or outer areas of the south of Tenerife naturally have a longer transfer than those staying closer to the departure port, and we also expect that this is clearly communicated by the seller prior to booking. Concerning the number of passengers on board, we always operate within strict legal capacity limits and voluntarily limit passenger numbers below the vessel's maximum authorised capacity. Perceptions of space and comfort can vary from person to person, especially during the busy summer season, but the Royal Delfín offers several viewing areas distributed across different decks, allowing guests to move around freely during the excursion. Regarding the food, we appreciate that tastes differ. The meal served on board is a complimentary service and not the main purpose of the excursion, which is to experience whales and dolphins in their natural habitat while enjoying the Atlantic Ocean and Tenerife's coastline. We are sorry to read your comments about the photographer. Please note that the photographer is an independent collaborator rather than a member of our crew. Even so, we will pass your comments on, as we expect every guest to be treated with courtesy regardless of whether they choose to purchase photographs. Finally, while we respect that the experience was not entirely what you had hoped for, many of our guests consider spending several hours at sea, enjoying the sunshine, the ocean breeze, and observing resident pilot whales in their natural environment to be the highlight of their visit to Tenerife. Kind regards, Tenerife Dolphin

Fantastic trip
Wonderful experience. Saw many dolphins and pilot whales. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would definitely recommend 👌

Daylight Robbery
Far too many people on board so no space to relax or sit on either decks. The large volume of people made it impossible to see any Dolphins or anything. Poor food options and no Vegetarian options. Rude staff. Not how it was sold to us or what we expected. No help or compensation in regards to our problems, just disregarded. Poor Customer Service and a waste of money. Do not recommend and avoid at all costs.
Response from the operator: Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to learn that the excursion did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify several points for future readers. Firstly, the Royal Delfín operates under strict maritime safety and capacity regulations, which are rigorously respected at all times. In addition, we voluntarily limit passenger numbers below the vessel's maximum authorized capacity in order to provide additional comfort and freedom of movement on board. While perceptions of space and comfort are subjective and can vary from person to person, the vessel offers multiple viewing and seating areas across different decks, allowing guests to move freely throughout the excursion. We also respectfully disagree with the statement that it was impossible to see dolphins or whales due to the number of passengers on board. The Royal Delfín is a large sightseeing catamaran specifically designed for whale watching, with ample viewing space distributed around the vessel. During sightings, guests have plenty of opportunity to observe the animals from various locations on board, and the size of the vessel often provides better visibility than many smaller boats. Regarding vegetarian meals, special dietary requirements can be catered for when requested in advance at the time of booking. As meals are prepared beforehand according to the information provided, it is important that dietary preferences are communicated before the excursion takes place. We are also concerned by your comments regarding our staff. Our crew and guides work hard every day to assist passengers and ensure a positive experience, and while we respect your opinion, your description does not reflect the feedback received from the vast majority of our guests. Finally, we are sorry that the experience did not match your expectations. However, the vessel, facilities, route and services are clearly presented through our website and partner agencies, allowing guests to make an informed decision before booking. Kind regards, Tenerife Dolphin

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Dolphin and Whale Watching Mini Cruise with Underwater Viewing: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tenerife.
How much does Dolphin and Whale Watching Mini Cruise with Underwater Viewing cost?
+
Prices start at $39 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tenerife usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Dolphin and Whale Watching Mini Cruise with Underwater Viewing take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tenerife is not rushed.
Is Dolphin and Whale Watching Mini Cruise with Underwater Viewing worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 241 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Tenerife, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Dolphin and Whale Watching Mini Cruise with Underwater Viewing?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Dolphin and Whale Watching Mini Cruise with Underwater Viewing suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Dolphin and Whale Watching Mini Cruise with Underwater Viewing?
+
Around 84 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tenerife can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tenerife and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Dolphin and Whale Watching Mini Cruise with Underwater Viewing start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tenerife within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tenerife?
+
On Outty we rank every Tenerife experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale watching & listening Eco-Catamaran Tour with Snacks &Drinks, Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife, 3-hour Whale and Dolphin Watching and Listening Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tenerife?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tenerife?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
