A Hidden Gem in Delhi – The Best Street Art Walk Experience!

If you’ve already experienced the chaos, crowds and energy of Old Delhi and are looking for something more calm, peaceful and unique to do in Delhi, this Delhi Street Art Walk is absolutely the tour for you. Honestly, I would say 90–95% of tourists probably don’t even know a place like this exists in Delhi. It was such a pleasant surprise and completely different from the usual Delhi sightseeing experience. The street art and murals are incredible — huge, colourful and full of stories. But what really made the experience special was the host. He is actually the person who started the street art walk, so he is truly the OG! He has personally met many of the artists whose work you see, which gives the tour a level of knowledge and authenticity that you simply wouldn’t get by exploring on your own. He explained the Delhi street art scene, the artists, the murals and the stories behind the artwork so well. You can really tell that this is something he is passionate about, rather than just another tourist tour. This is a fantastic experience for families, friends, solo travellers and even corporate or private groups. It’s relaxed, interesting and gives you a completely different perspective of Delhi. The little touches also made it memorable — chai stops, pet-friendly spots, beautiful surroundings and plenty of time to enjoy the art without feeling rushed. And the chai prepared during the experience? Oh my God — absolutely delicious! 😍 I enjoyed the chai so much that I actually booked the host’s Chai Masterclass afterwards, and that was excellent too! Overall, this was a 10/10 experience and one of my favourite unique things to do in Delhi. If you’ve already done the main Delhi attractions and want to discover a different side of the city, I highly recommend this Delhi street art tour. Highly recommended for anyone looking for street art, local culture, hidden gems and an authentic, peaceful experience in Delhi.

Best Delhi Street Art Walk – A Hidden Gem Beyond the Monuments

As it was my last day in Delhi, I had already visited the major monuments and wanted to do something different. I booked this Delhi Street Art Walk at the last minute, and I’m so glad I did. It turned out to be one of the most relaxing and memorable things to do in Delhi. The walk through the Lodhi Art District was calm, colourful, and full of fascinating stories. What made the experience special was our host, JD, who has personally met many of the artists behind the murals. His stories, insights, and conversations felt natural, making every artwork come alive. The pace was perfect, and the whole experience was well organised without ever feeling rushed. If you’re looking for a unique walking tour in Delhi, a street art tour beyond the usual tourist attractions, or simply a different side of the city, I highly recommend booking this experience with the Explore Real India team.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this! Honestly, hearing that our walk was the perfect way to wrap up your time in Delhi makes my day. The art district is one of my absolute favorite spots in the city. After visiting all the grand, busy monuments, it’s such a breath of fresh air to just stroll through those quiet, colorful lanes. Getting to share the real stories behind those murals—and the incredible artists I've had the chance to meet—is something I genuinely love doing. I'm so glad it felt like walking around with a friend and that those backstories made the art come alive for you! Next time you are in Delhi, we’ll have to trade the paint for spices! I’d love to have you over to our family home to cook some traditional dishes together (you can see what we get up to in the kitchen on Instagram @ Art of Indian Cooking). Or, if you want to dive back into the city's energy, we can go hunt down the best local street food (catch a glimpse on Insta at Food Tours Delhi). Until then, have a safe flight home, and a massive thank you from me and the whole Explore Real India team!

Delhi Street art Tour - A Refreshing Escape from Old Delhi

If you’re looking for something completely different from the hustle, noise, and crowds of Old Delhi, this experience is the perfect addition to your itinerary. It’s peaceful, insightful, and unlike the usual tourist attractions. The collection of stunning, massive murals and minerals is fascinating, and the host does a fantastic job explaining the stories behind the artwork, the artists, and their significance. What made the experience even more special was how warm and approachable the host was. You can ask anything about everyday life in Delhi from a local’s perspective, making the visit feel personal and authentic. And I can’t forget the homemade chai it was absolutely delicious! JD’s signature chai blend is genuinely something special and worth trying. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. I would happily book more experiences with Explore Real India and highly recommend this one to anyone looking for a deeper, more meaningful side of Delhi.

Response from the operator: A full 10/10! Thank you so much for this wonderful and uplifting review! I am so thrilled that you enjoyed trading the hustle and bustle of the city for the peaceful, vibrant open-air gallery of the art district. Diving into the stories behind those massive murals and giving guests a real, grounded peek into daily life in Delhi is something I truly love doing. And I'm so glad my homemade signature chai hit the spot! Brewing a fresh, aromatic batch is my favorite way to keep things cozy while we wander through the quiet streets. Since you enjoyed that cup so much, next time you are in Delhi, you’ll have to drop by our family home so I can teach you the exact spice ratio and technique to brew it in your own kitchen! We share plenty of those tea-brewing and family recipe moments over on Insta @ Art of Indian Cooking. Whenever you are ready to venture back out into the city's food scene, we’d love to take you around to discover our safe, handpicked neighborhood street food spots (you can check out our local food walks on Insta at Food Tours Delhi). On behalf of the whole Explore Real India team, thank you again for your trust, your warm company, and for taking the time to recommend us. We can’t wait to host you again on your next trip!

    🎨 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Must-Do, Unique Delhi Experience!

If you want to experience something unique and different during your Delhi stay, I highly recommend this tour!Walking through the Lodhi Art District was an absolute highlight. Our guide, JD, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a fantastic understanding of each artwork, explaining the history of why it was painted and the deeper meaning behind every mural. The experience was made even better with great local food and delicious chai along the way. Do not miss this if you are visiting Delhi!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful recommendation! The Lodhi Art District is such a vibrant, modern side of Delhi, and I absolutely love taking guests there. Sharing the hidden history and the deeper meanings behind those incredible murals is one of my favorite things to do, so I’m thrilled to hear you enjoyed the storytelling just as much as the art itself! Of course, no walking tour in Delhi is complete without some great local bites and a fresh cup of chai! ☕ Since you enjoyed the snacks we had along the way, you’d probably love the deeper dives we do into the city's food scene—feel free to check out our foodie adventures on Insta at Food Tours Delhi. Even better, if you ever want to learn how to brew that exact authentic chai or make some local dishes yourself, we host hands-on classes in my family’s home (you can catch the kitchen vibes on Insta @ Art of Indian Cooking). And whenever you’re ready to discover more unique and off-the-beaten-path destinations across the country, just search for Explore Real India online and I’d be more than happy to help you plan it. Thanks again for exploring the colorful streets of Delhi with me. Keep drinking great chai, and I hope to see you both again someday!

Amazing art, peaceful neighborhood to wander, great guide!

JD did an amazing job showing us around the Lodhi art neighborhood. He personally has met all the artists and worked hard to understand and convey their motivations behind each mural. His English is very easy to understand and his personality makes it feel like he's your family. He served us chai and a snack halfway through. He drove us between some murals in his AC car. I have also done his cooking class and market tour and would highly recommend doing all 3! Thanks. JD!

Response from the operator: Wow, what an absolute honor to host you not just once, but three times! Thank you so much for this beautiful review. Sharing the stories of the Lodhi Art District is a deep personal passion of mine. Having spent time with the artists, it means the world to me to be able to pass their true vision and motivations on to you—and of course, taking a nice AC break with some hot chai and snacks in between murals is a must! I am incredibly touched that you felt like family during your time here. Since you’ve already conquered the bustling streets with us (which we love showcasing on Insta at Food Tours Delhi) and then mastered our family recipes right in our home kitchen (@Art of Indian Cooking), you truly are part of our extended Delhi family now! It means so much that you recommend doing all three experiences. For your next trip, we’ll have to plan something even bigger! Whenever you are ready to venture beyond Delhi and explore the rest of the country, just look up Explore Real India online and I will make sure your next Indian adventure is just as unforgettable. Thank you again for trusting me with so much of your trip. Safe travels, and keep cooking those great dishes back home!

Delhi Street Art Walk in Lodhi Art District with Chai & Food: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.

How much does Delhi Street Art Walk in Lodhi Art District with Chai & Food cost?

    +

Prices start at $2000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Delhi Street Art Walk in Lodhi Art District with Chai & Food take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.

Is Delhi Street Art Walk in Lodhi Art District with Chai & Food worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Delhi Street Art Walk in Lodhi Art District with Chai & Food?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Delhi Street Art Walk in Lodhi Art District with Chai & Food suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Delhi Street Art Walk in Lodhi Art District with Chai & Food?

    +

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Delhi Street Art Walk in Lodhi Art District with Chai & Food start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in New Delhi?

    +

On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit New Delhi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in New Delhi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
