What you get

    About this experience

Delft is the city that gave Delft Blue to the world. On this private tour, you explore both sides of that story. Entrance tickets, audio tours and the transfer to and from Royal Delft are included. Your walking tour begins at the Market Square and takes you through Delft's old town: past the New Church and the leaning Old Church, along the canals, and through the stories of Vermeer, William of Orange, and Antony van Leeuwenhoek. Your guide shares the stories hidden behind the city's facades, at your pace. Then you visit Royal Delft, the only Delft Blue manufacturer still operating since the 17th century. In the museum and factory, you see how craftspeople produce and hand-paint Delftware using authentic techniques passed down for centuries. Royal Delft also has a shop and a cafe if you want to linger around. If you have any special requests, just let us know.

    Delft walking tour

The only reason I gave it a fair review was our tour guide was just ok. Maybe it was the city itself. Delft is fine but Ghent and Bruges is better.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, and sorry to hear the tour was just okay. We will pass your comments on to our team so we can keep improving. As for Bruges and Ghent, we think they're just okay ;) - Robin from Discover Delft

Tour of city of Delft and Delft factory

This was a wonderful historic venture of the city of Delft and the Delft factory. Eliza was a wonderful tour guide and explained the history beautifully. I would suggest to wear comfortable shoes and bring rain jackets if the weather is threatening.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review! We will let her know. Maybe see you again next time you visit.

    Loved our tour of Delft

On a girlfriend’s trip to see the tulips, we took a day trip to from Amsterdam to have a tour of Delft. What a great day! Was easy to meet our tour guide, Mia, at Markt Square by walking from the train station. Mia, a student at U. Of Delft, was a wonderful tour guide, very knowledgeable, informative and her love of Delft was infectious!! Showed us all the main sites, gave great recommendations on shops and eating places. So lovely. We were surprised when she told us at the end that we were among her first tours!! She’s a gem in a beautiful city!

Response from the operator: Thanks for your positive review. We are happy that you have enjoyed the tour. See you next time!

Delft: Private Walking Tour and Royal Delft Factory: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for The Hague.

How much does Delft: Private Walking Tour and Royal Delft Factory cost?

    +

Prices start at $201 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in The Hague usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Delft: Private Walking Tour and Royal Delft Factory take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in The Hague is not rushed.

Is Delft: Private Walking Tour and Royal Delft Factory worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in The Hague, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Delft: Private Walking Tour and Royal Delft Factory?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Delft: Private Walking Tour and Royal Delft Factory suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Delft: Private Walking Tour and Royal Delft Factory?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in The Hague can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in The Hague and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Delft: Private Walking Tour and Royal Delft Factory start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central The Hague within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in The Hague?

    +

On Outty we rank every The Hague experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Walking Tour of Delft - The City of Orange and Blue, The Hague 2-Hour Walking Tour | Discover The City With A Local, Royal Delft: Delftblue Factory and Museum Admission Ticket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit The Hague?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in The Hague?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
