Great time and kid friendly
Great fishing trip. We had a 7 year old with us on his first ever fishing trip and he had a great time. We caught tuna and Mahi Mahi.

Awesome trip!
Took a 3/4 day charter out of Tamarindo with my wife and two sons (5 & 7). We were hoping to catch a rooster fish, but as it’s not the ideal season, we went offshore. Within the first 45 minutes, we had a 90 lb sailfish at the boat. Shortly after, we had another sailfish at the boat. I was starting to worry that I was going to tap out from exhaustion before my kiddos! All in all, we caught three sailfish, a nice yellowfin, and two juvenile dolphin. We missed a handful of bites and had a couple fish shake the hook while trying to help the boys reel them in. These guys expertly filleted our tuna and as soon as we got home, we promptly whipped up some sashimi and it was AWESOME. Doesn’t get any fresher than that… The 3/4 and full day charters come with lunch, and I was not expecting much. To my pleasant surprise, the sandwiches they provided were superb. I was a little reluctant to spend $1k+ on a fishing trip, but it was so worth it. I’d highly recommend these guys. They were on top of everything, and so patient with us. If you’re on the fence, pull the trigger…. You won’t regret it.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such an incredible review! 🎣🌊 We're absolutely thrilled to hear your family had such an unforgettable day on the water. While roosterfish weren't cooperating that day, landing three sailfish, a yellowfin tuna, and dolphin (mahi-mahi) certainly made for an action-packed trip! We love that your boys got to be part of the excitement—those are memories that will last a lifetime. It’s also great to hear you enjoyed the fresh tuna sashimi after the trip. There truly is nothing better than eating fish you caught just hours earlier! 🍣 We're especially happy that the lunch exceeded your expectations and that our crew's patience, hard work, and dedication made the experience worth every penny. Providing a fun, family-friendly adventure while giving every guest the best chance at an incredible catch is exactly what we strive for. Thank you again for trusting us with your family's fishing adventure and for your heartfelt recommendation. We hope to welcome you back to Tamarindo for another unforgettable day on the water. Maybe next time we'll get that trophy roosterfish too! 🤙🐟

Not as expected
Subpar experience, to say the least. The guide was excellent and the deckhand worked hard, so no complaints there. My biggest issue was that we spent nearly two hours of our trip catching bait, which ended up consuming roughly 45% of the charter time we paid for. In my opinion, a professional charter should have bait prepared and ready to go before clients step on the boat, allowing the trip to focus on fishing rather than spending a large portion of the day gathering bait. Unfortunately, that significantly impacted the overall experience and the amount of actual fishing time we had.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience. However, after reviewing our booking records, we have been unable to locate any reservation under your name. We take pride in operating our fishing charters with frozen bait, tackle, and all fishing equipment prepared before departure on EVERY tour. Catching bait for nearly half of a charter is NOT part of our standard operation and does not reflect the experience we provide to our guests. Since 2023, we have welcomed thousands of customers and have consistently received outstanding reviews, with the vast majority of our guests rating their experience 5 stars. We encourage prospective customers to read through our reviews to see the level of service and fishing experience we strive to deliver every day. If you believe this review was intended for our company, we would be happy to investigate further. Please contact us directly with the date of your trip and the name under which the reservation was made, as we have been unable to find any reservation matching your name in our system. Deep Sea Fishing Private Charter in Tamarindo - 28' Century: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tamarindo.
How much does Deep Sea Fishing Private Charter in Tamarindo - 28' Century cost?
+
Prices start at $668 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tamarindo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Deep Sea Fishing Private Charter in Tamarindo - 28' Century take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tamarindo is not rushed.
Is Deep Sea Fishing Private Charter in Tamarindo - 28' Century worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 35 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tamarindo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Deep Sea Fishing Private Charter in Tamarindo - 28' Century?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Deep Sea Fishing Private Charter in Tamarindo - 28' Century suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Deep Sea Fishing Private Charter in Tamarindo - 28' Century?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tamarindo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tamarindo and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Deep Sea Fishing Private Charter in Tamarindo - 28' Century start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tamarindo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tamarindo?
+
On Outty we rank every Tamarindo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sunset Catamaran & Snorkeling Tour in Playa Flamingo, ATV or Buggy Guided Tour from Tamarindo, Conchal or RIU Hotels, Sunday Funday Tamarindo Party Bus - Beach and Pool Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tamarindo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tamarindo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
