What a great time we had snorkeling, paddle boarding, playing on the beautiful beach. We were surprised with a full meal instead of just chips or a snack.

I can not speak highly enough about this excellent tour! Josue our Captain and his crew were incredible! From the safe and timely pickup, to explanation of safety rules and information, to the beautiful sail, the wonderful snorkel and exploring of Honeymoon beach, the incredibly delicious “snack” which was really a full meal of tacos, salads, fruits, cookies and all you can drink full bar, this was a MUST BOOK for anyone in the Guanacaste area! Josue was an amazing Captain, professional, friendly and kind and really knows his stuff! The sunset was unbelievable and though it was “rainy season” we had a perfectly clear day! While my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour, there are some “party-ers” that may not make this quite as family friendly, but the boat is large enough that you can hang out with whatever group suits you. There was a family on board an they too were having a lovely time! I can not recommend this company enough!

Best Catamaran Ever! #GoJosué
We had a blast on the lazy lizard. Josué, David and George were the best crew. We had a great time going to honeymoon beach, snorkeling, and making friends along the way. We would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to go on a sunset catamaran trip while in Costa Rica!!!

Lovely day at sea
What a wonderful time! Very professional boat operation. The other tourists were friendly and upbeat, sharing stories about various adventures in CR. The staff helped everyone on and off the transfer boat according to their needs. The sea was choppy the day we toured, but the inlet we found to swim in was calm, the sand was white and the water a beautiful turquoise! Two other boats of tourists ended up joining us, but no one was a bother. There was a giant floating pad tied to the boat, a couple of sit-on-top plastic kayaks, and a couple of paddle boards offered. There were also pool ‘noodles’ and life vests for support. Two types of snorkeling masks were available if you wanted to swim to the rocky shore area to see puffer fish and other sea life. Once we were all back on the boat a lone sea turtle swim near by. We had delicious tacos with different salads and some sweets for lunch. They accommodate vegetarians as well. Lots of drinks offered with service so you don’t even have to bother to get up to go in for those. Everyone raved about the day!

Why this scores 90
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sunset Catamaran & Snorkeling Tour in Playa Flamingo: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tamarindo.
How much does Sunset Catamaran & Snorkeling Tour in Playa Flamingo cost?
+
Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tamarindo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sunset Catamaran & Snorkeling Tour in Playa Flamingo take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tamarindo is not rushed.
Is Sunset Catamaran & Snorkeling Tour in Playa Flamingo worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 90 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 1,153 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Tamarindo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sunset Catamaran & Snorkeling Tour in Playa Flamingo?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sunset Catamaran & Snorkeling Tour in Playa Flamingo suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sunset Catamaran & Snorkeling Tour in Playa Flamingo?
+
Around 404 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tamarindo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tamarindo and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sunset Catamaran & Snorkeling Tour in Playa Flamingo start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tamarindo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tamarindo?
+
On Outty we rank every Tamarindo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include ATV or Buggy Guided Tour from Tamarindo, Conchal or RIU Hotels, Sunday Funday Tamarindo Party Bus - Beach and Pool Crawl, ATV Beach and Mountain Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tamarindo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tamarindo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
