A very full day of driving, but worth it for the rhinos and elephants!

A very very long day tour from Nairobi for those short on time, but definitely worth it for the wildlife viewing. I'm an equator nerd and reallt enjoyed the stops at the equator signs in Nanyuki and also in Ol Pejeta itself. Rhinos are the main draw here, and I saw a lot of them. Also a surprisingly high number of elephants. I did tours of Ol Pejeta and Amboseli National Park in the same week, and I have to say that Ol Pejeta actually had far better wildlife encounters. Bonus that it also seemed a lot less touristed than Amboseli, so the wildlife encounters seemed much more intimate. James is a fantastic and knowledgeable driver. Would definitely recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and fantastic review! We completely agree that a day trip from Nairobi to Ol Pejeta makes for a very long day on the road, but we are absolutely thrilled that the spectacular wildlife sightings made every single mile worth it for you. Highlights of Your Adventure: Fellow "Equator Nerds" Unite! 🌍 We absolutely love that you enjoyed the equator stops. Crossing the literal center of the world in Nanyuki and inside Ol Pejeta itself is such a unique milestone, and we're so glad it added that extra layer of geeky joy to your journey. The Ol Pejeta Advantage: Your comparison with Amboseli is spot on. While Amboseli is famous for its iconic postcard views, Ol Pejeta’s incredible conservation model often delivers much more intimate, uncrowded, and up-close encounters. We are thrilled you got to see so many rhinos and a surprising number of elephants! Kudos to James: We will definitely pass your glowing praise along to James! He is an absolute superstar on the road, and he will be delighted to know that his knowledge and driving made your whirlwind day seamless and memorable. "Ol Pejeta actually had far better wildlife encounters... it also seemed a lot less touristed than Amboseli, so the wildlife encounters seemed much more intimate." — This is music to our ears, and it perfectly captures why Ol Pejeta is such a special gem. Thank you again for choosing us to guide you on this fast-paced adventure. Whenever you find yourself back in Kenya—hopefully with a little more time to spare—James and the rest of our team would love to welcome you back for another unforgettable safari! Warm regards, Thoya

Long, but perfect day with Samuel

The day ended up better than we could have ever expected. We got to the park around 10 and drove around looking for animals until our 11am appointment with the two last remaining white rhinos. But before that could happen, Samuel learned about a lion sighting on the other side of the park. We took off and picked up a ranger and spent an hour going through the bush in hunt of lions... And we found 3 large males Samuel rescheduled our rhino appointment and we spent time on the side of the park where we spotted the lions. This was less visited and was loaded with animals. We saw tons of zebras, elephants, and giraffes. We also saw a baby zebra, elephant, and rhino. Additionally we saw hyenas, lots of antelope, wildebeasts, and buffalo. Samuel was great at finding the animals, and he let us spend as much time we wanted at each sighting. I 100% recommend Perfect Safaris and Samuel.

Response from the operator: Hello, Thank you for sharing your tour experience with us. We're delighted to hear that Samuel made it such a memorable and fulfilling adventure for you, ensuring you saw every animal and going above and beyond to find you lions. Visiting the Northern white rhinos too, enhanced your trip to Ol Pejeta. Your recommendation is valuable, and we hope to welcome you back for more incredible tour in the future. Regards Susan

Exceptional experience at Ol Pejeta with Perfect Safaris Africa!

Perfect Safaris Africa lives by its name! Our experience was wonderful especially due to the leadership and professionalism by our guide Kevin! He is very knowledgeable about everything related to wildlife and the richness of Kenyan culture. He knows the best photo ops, the best places to stop for snacks, and he has gained the trust of the Ol Pejeta rangers for them to guide you even more. Visiting Ol Pejeta and visiting Najin and Fatu, the last two Northern white rhinos was exceptional. If you make it all the way to Kenya, without a doubt, make it all the way to Ol Pejeta. Visit them, touch their horns, and recommit yourself to doing all you can to protect wildlife and nature. It's a long day (leaving at 5am and arriving about 8pm) but totally worth it! If you have the time, stay overnight at a hotel.

Response from the operator: Hello, We are delightedd to hear that you had a fantastic experience with us! Providing excellent service and ensuring our guests' comfort and satisfaction is always our top priority. It's great to hear that our driver/ guide, Kevin was excellent. We truly appreciate your kind words and look forward to welcoming you back for more memorable adventures in the future. Regards Susan

    Amazing and wonderful adventure.

This was one of the most amazing adventures of my life. Kevin was the best guide, he was punctual, friendly, knowledgeable and it was like another friend joined us on our trip to show us around. We were able to see four of the big five in one day. All living happily in a conservatory safe from being hunted by man and being well cared in nature. That meant a lot to us. I can't rate this high enough. I would recommend you try going if you can.

Response from the operator: Hello, Thank you so much for your positive review and a 5-star rating. We are happy to know that Kevin, your driver/ guide is wonderful thus made your trip in Ol Pejeta unforgettable. Your encounter with 4 of the big 5 is another pleasure too. We really appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back for another memorable tour in the future. Regards, Susan

Day Tour to Ol Pejeta Conservancy: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.

How much does Day Tour to Ol Pejeta Conservancy cost?

    +

Prices start at $410 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Day Tour to Ol Pejeta Conservancy take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.

Is Day Tour to Ol Pejeta Conservancy worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Day Tour to Ol Pejeta Conservancy?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Day Tour to Ol Pejeta Conservancy suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Day Tour to Ol Pejeta Conservancy?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Day Tour to Ol Pejeta Conservancy start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Nairobi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate, 2 Days Amboseli Safari using a 4x4 Landcruiser jeep(with options), Kibera Slum Tour with Lucas. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nairobi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nairobi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Day Tour to Ol Pejeta Conservancy?
