Your shortened. Ephesus impressive.
Flight was delayed 2-1/2 hours, so our tour was cut from 6 hours including lunch to about 2-1/2 hours without lunch, so we had to skip some parts, including Mary’s house. Our guide was so-so, not outstanding. Still, we were glad to see Ephesus. Transfers were on time and efficient.
Response from the operator: We are deeply sorry for the unfortunate situation caused by the delay of your flight due to weather conditions, which were beyond our control. We did our best to provide you with a pleasant experience within the time we had, and your satisfaction is very important to us. Thank you very much for choosing us. We would be delighted to see and host you again in our country.

Great Tour but Viator Very Unhelpful with Rewards Credits
The tour was fantastic, We had four friends on the tour. The Ephesus tour with Elif, the tour operator, was great. She also took us to a rug place and a tile place (make sure you want to go there.) We enjoyed her and she made the tour interesting and informative. The transportation back and forth to the airport on the tour was nice and spacious. It is a full long day but it was worth it. We did have some issues. The tour started earlier than expected, which was not a problem. We left the hotel at 3:45 AM instead of the 5:30, as stated on the website. The issue was that while checking in for the flight from Istanbul to Izmir, Turkish Airlines put two of us on standby. The plane was overbooked on Turkish Air by 20 people. The tour company said we could get boarding passes at the airport. This problem may have been avoided if we checked in for the flight 24 hours ahead of time. We did not know that two of us would have seats on the plane until they were escorted up the stairs minutes before we took off. This was very stressful. Despite contacting Viator, they were very unhelpful about receiving any rewards credit for the tour.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, we are very happy to hear that you were satisfied with our service. Your feedback is very helpful to us in improving our service. We hope that your entire trip to Turkey was wonderful and that you leave our country with beautiful memories. We would be delighted to see you in our country again. Thank you.

Amazing experience!
The tour was amazing! The company organized everything and everyone was on time. We had no difficulty finding our guide tour once we arrived to Izmir and the transfers to and from the airport were all on time. Our guide was amazing, his name was Mr. Zafer Bozoglu and he shared with us a lot of information about Ephesus and what is known about the House of Virgin Mary. We loved seeing all the cats at Ephesus. Our lunch was awesome, was a local place with home made food. We loved this experience and we recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more about ancient places.

Must go trip
We are very lucky to have Ellif as our guide. We had so many questions regarding the history of The House of Virgin Mary and ancient city of Ephesus. An addition to planned sightseeing she showed us Turkish handcrafting cultures which was real art. Very thankful that we booked this trip via Viator

Why this scores 41
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Daily Ephesus & House of Virgin Mary from Istanbul - Small Group: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Istanbul.
How much does Daily Ephesus & House of Virgin Mary from Istanbul - Small Group cost?
+
Prices start at $860 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Istanbul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Daily Ephesus & House of Virgin Mary from Istanbul - Small Group take?
+
Plan for about 15 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Istanbul is not rushed.
Is Daily Ephesus & House of Virgin Mary from Istanbul - Small Group worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 41 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 95 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Istanbul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Daily Ephesus & House of Virgin Mary from Istanbul - Small Group?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Daily Ephesus & House of Virgin Mary from Istanbul - Small Group suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 15-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Daily Ephesus & House of Virgin Mary from Istanbul - Small Group?
+
Around 33 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Istanbul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Istanbul and add a light layer if any part of the 15-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Daily Ephesus & House of Virgin Mary from Istanbul - Small Group start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Istanbul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Istanbul?
+
On Outty we rank every Istanbul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Istanbul 1, 2 or 3-Day Private Guided Istanbul Tour, Istanbul Luxury Bosphorus Yacht Cruise with Asian Side Stop, ISTANBUL BEST: Iconic Landmarks Full Day PRIVATE Guided City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Istanbul?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Istanbul?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
