    Would not recommend

This is not a private excursion. You will be bunched with other people that have taken it thru the cruise line you are on. They bait the crocodiles to get them to come to shore. They are pretty much tamed and dependent on people for food. We could not go ziplining because it was raining that day. So we asked to go to eat somewhere to enjoy the authentic local cuisine. All the food was on a buffet and was the same as what you can get at a local restaurant in your hometown with things just to try to get you to buy that are made in some other country.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience and for the detailed information. It’s very helpful to know that this is not a private excursion and that the crocodiles are fed to attract them to the shore. I’m sorry you weren’t able to go ziplining because of the rain, and it’s disappointing that the alternative meal didn’t offer the authentic local cuisine you were hoping for. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain everything. It definitely gives me a better idea of what to expect.

Best Shore Excursion we ever did

We started our day visiting the capuchin monkeys in the jungle. They were absolutely adorable - some even jumped on our shoulders! We managed to take some incredible pictures. Next, we went zip-lining through the jungle. Three guides climbed with us and secured the gear on every ride, so all we had to do was to lean back. The zip lines are hundreds of meters long and incredibly fun. After that, we took a boat tour along the Tarcoles River and saw many large crocodiles, including one very close to the boat! The tour was fantastic - the boat was almost empty, and we spotted a variety of birds along the way. At the entrance, there’s a large souvenir store and a backyard with cacao, cinnamon, ginger, and banana plants. It was amazing to see all these tropical plants up close - I had never seen them before. Later, we visited another large souvenir shop, which was perfect for shopping. Prices were even lower than at the Tarcoles River store. The shop is connected to a butterfly farm filled with morphos flying all around. It was incredible to see so many butterflies, one sat on my hand. For lunch, we went to a local soda. The private tour is excellent, with no waiting time at the zip lines, a nearly empty boat for the river tour, and a personal experience with the monkeys. Our tour guide was exceptional - knowledgeable about the animals, plants, and life in Costa Rica. She made sure we had the best experience, including getting monkeys on our heads and seeing butterflies up close. The driver was also fantastic, skillfully avoiding traffic and saving us a lot of time. After the tour, he drove us back to the pier, leaving us a few hours to stroll around before our ship sailed. Later, we learned that others had been stuck in traffic for hours - this tour operator ensures you get back on time. The tour was very well organized, which is impressive given how many stops we made. Thank you for an unforgettable day! 🦋☀️🦜🌺🦩🐊🥭🐒

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed every part of your day — from meeting the playful capuchin monkeys and zip-lining through the rainforest to spotting crocodiles on the Tarcoles River and admiring the beautiful butterflies. It’s great to know that our guide and driver helped make your experience smooth, fun, and stress-free. We always do our best to offer a personalized and well-organized tour so our guests can truly enjoy Costa Rica without any worries. We’re so happy to have been part of your unforgettable day — thank you for choosing us! 🌺🐒🦋

How much does Crocodiles Safari & Zipline adventure -Small Group Sightseeing cost?

    +

Prices start at $184 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puntarenas usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Crocodiles Safari & Zipline adventure -Small Group Sightseeing take?

Is Crocodiles Safari & Zipline adventure -Small Group Sightseeing worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puntarenas, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Crocodiles Safari & Zipline adventure -Small Group Sightseeing?

How far in advance should I book Crocodiles Safari & Zipline adventure -Small Group Sightseeing?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puntarenas can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puntarenas and add a light layer if any part of the 6.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Puntarenas?

    +

On Outty we rank every Puntarenas experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tortuga Island Tour with Costa Cat, 3 Hour ATV Medium Waterfall Tour (Swimmable Pool), Turtle Island, from Puntarenas, snorkeling and lunch included!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Puntarenas?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Puntarenas?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
