About this experience

You will live the real process of artisan jewelry in a local studio in San Miguel de Allende, personally guided by us, Alejandra and Jesus, jewelers and teachers passionate about this trade. Each person chooses their own Mexican opal, a unique stone in color and energy, and begins with a small ritual that makes the moment even more special. Then you will work the silver with traditional tools and learn authentic techniques such as cutting, shaping, welding and polishing your own ring. Unlike a conventional tourist activity, this is an intimate, practical and personalized experience. You will take a self-made piece and a significant memory of your trip: something created with your hands, fire and intention in San Miguel de Allende.

Amazing experience! A must - do in SMA!

This was such a neat experience! Jesus took his time teaching us all about the jewelry making process, and our rings turned out beautiful!! I cannot recommend this class enough-we’ll definitely be back for another class! Lasting memories made!

I LOVE MEXICO.

If you have any interest in learning about silver smithing or jewelry making then take the course. You will not be disappointed. My daughter and I did a 1 week intensive class. We already had some basic skills, but we learned so much more. This workshop experience combined with being in San Miguel de Allende is bliss. Alejandra and Jesus are real Artisans with super skills, knowledge and knowhow who open their home family workshop up to you.

Highly recommended

I can highly recommend Teokari. I first made an opal ring and then decided to take the beginner’s jewelry-making course. It was a fantastic experience, and I learned so much. The instruction was professional, patient, and encouraging throughout. I would definitely recommend Teokari to anyone interested in learning how to make their own jewelry.

How far in advance should I book Create your own Silver Ring with Mexican Opal?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Miguel de Allende and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Miguel de Allende?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Miguel de Allende?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
