Always a Wonderful Tour of the Pyramid
I have used Coyote Canyon Tours each of the three times I have visited Canada de la Virgen. They're informative, fun, and it's always a enjoyable time. So many pyramids do not let people climb on them any more to preserve them but I think we still can here as it is not massive amounts of people like the more famous ones. This is one of my favorite parts of the journey. I also recommend spending the small amount extra for the lunch. Fresh food, farm to table, in the country!

A taste of deep history with an extremely knowledgeable local guide
Took the half-day trip from SMA to the nearby spectacular pre-Colombian temple complex. Tour pick up on edge of SMA center, a short walk across the center for us. Tour Co. drove us the half hour out of town to the temple meetup area where we joined with our archaeological guide and a few other groups and guides. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and generally interesting with a real passion for the subject. He also had an excellent knowledge of the local flora and fauna, and also spoke perfect English covering even the most technical subjects with ease. He gave us lots of information on the astronomical, cultural, archaeological state of what's known and yet to be discovered, which gave the perfect context of which to hang the visit.

Excellent trip in SMA
Coyote Canyon Adventure's day-trip was fantastic! The guide was super knowledgeable, transportation was great, and the food for lunch was excellent. And the site is really interesting and very pretty. Very good value for the money.

Excellent Experience
Our visit to Canada de La Virgen with Israel was terrific. He’s extremely well- informed. The tour was well- managed, with not too many visitors. This is a must do on a visit to San Miguel de Allende.

Interesting archaeological site close to San Miguel de Allende
Very interesting guided tour Everything was well organized. Our guide was knowledgeable and gave an interesting explanation of the site. We went by car to the meeting point for the shuttle. There is a small shop at the reception area where you can buy water and there are decent toilets. You have to leave everything in a locker and can only carry water and a cell phone to the ruins. The shuttle takes you to the start of a walk up about 2 km up a hill. It is a very rocky path so best to wear good shoes. Once you’re at the archaeological site, there is very little shade and you will be on your feet the entire time. Highly recommend going It is a very special area and unlike any of the other pyramids you will see in Mexico

Canada de la Virgen Archaeological Site Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Miguel de Allende.
How much does Canada de la Virgen Archaeological Site Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $91 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Miguel de Allende usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Canada de la Virgen Archaeological Site Tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Miguel de Allende is not rushed.
Is Canada de la Virgen Archaeological Site Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 197 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Miguel de Allende, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Canada de la Virgen Archaeological Site Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Canada de la Virgen Archaeological Site Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Canada de la Virgen Archaeological Site Tour?
+
Around 69 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Miguel de Allende can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Miguel de Allende and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Canada de la Virgen Archaeological Site Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Miguel de Allende within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in San Miguel de Allende?
+
On Outty we rank every San Miguel de Allende experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tacos and Tequila Walking Tour with Taste of Miguel, Half Day Excursion - Horseback Riding Adventure in SMA, Historical and Cultural Walking Tour of San Miguel de Allende. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit San Miguel de Allende?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in San Miguel de Allende?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
