It was a long day with...
It was a long day with lots of travel to get to where we wanted to be so I'd recommend being closer to Playa del Carmen if you're taking this tour. It was not at all the tour company's fault, but we had an extra couple hours travel from where we were staying. That aside, it was a very good excursion. David was our guide and took extremely good care of us from start to finish. We had the opportunity for snorkeling at 3 different spots but since the sea was so rough, we opted to stay in the boat for the 2nd & 3rd spots. David made sure we got to see much sea life during our time in the water and was happy to let us chill in the boat after we decided we'd had enough. It was a good day and I'd recommend this tour.

Do not recommend!
I rate this tour 0. I payed $600 CAD for the tour, including hotel pickup. We waited for one hour with no one picking us up. I called the local number and the agent argued with me saying I missed the playa del carmen pickup and wouldn't let me explain I paid for hotel pick up. I asked to be rebooked the next day, and she said no. She pretty much said no there was no hotel pick up even though I paid extra and my ticket said some thing. She told me to call viator and make my plea with them after the rude phone call. In the end I lost my money because of their mistake! There was no communication that anything was changed and they sent me the ticket the day before with the hotel pickup on ticket. I do not recommend this tour! If you do, make sure you call the day before so they don't screw you around.
Response from the operator: Dear Leigha, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience; however, we would like to clarify several important points for accuracy. Your booking was received on January 8, 2026. On January 9, 2026, our reservations team sent you a detailed message via Viator clearly confirming that the meeting point for the excursion was Miniso Paseo del Carmen at 9:00 AM, including the full address. This information was communicated well in advance, and no hotel pickup was booked or confirmed for this reservation. Our guide was present at the confirmed meeting point and waited beyond the scheduled departure time. Unfortunately, you did not arrive, and the booking was therefore classified as a no-show, in accordance with our published terms and conditions. As the space was reserved specifically for you and could not be resold at short notice, a refund was not applicable. Regarding your phone call on the day of the excursion, our team member attempted to explain the confirmed meeting arrangements. Unfortunately, the conversation escalated, and respectful communication was not maintained. We always strive to assist our guests professionally and respectfully, even in stressful situations. We regret that this experience did not meet your expectations; however, the meeting point and time were clearly communicated in advance, and the excursion operated as confirmed. Kind regards, Pro Dive International

I had a truly wonderful experience diving with Pro Dive International in Playa del Carmen, and I can highly recommend them. From the very beginning, the organisation and professionalism of the entire team stood out. Everything was well coordinated, clear, and stress-free, which made a big difference. I did a refresher dive with Leni, who was absolutely fantastic — very patient, attentive, calm, and encouraging. She took the time to make sure I felt confident and comfortable again in the water, and her respectful and friendly approach made the experience really enjoyable. The excursion to Cozumel was also a great experience. From the taxi transfers to the boat crew and dive master, everyone was outstanding — professional, friendly, and genuinely caring. You really feel well looked after from start to finish. A big thank you to the whole Pro Dive International team for making my dives such positive memories. I would happily dive with them again in the future.

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cozumel Snorkeling Tour from Playa del Carmen: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Cozumel Snorkeling Tour from Playa del Carmen cost?
+
Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cozumel Snorkeling Tour from Playa del Carmen take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Cozumel Snorkeling Tour from Playa del Carmen worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 33 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cozumel Snorkeling Tour from Playa del Carmen?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cozumel Snorkeling Tour from Playa del Carmen suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cozumel Snorkeling Tour from Playa del Carmen?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cozumel Snorkeling Tour from Playa del Carmen start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
