Fun, customizable tour
This is a fun, customizable tour of Cozumel. We were traveling as a family with kids, so we skipped the tequila tasting and opted for the chocolate factory instead, which was a great choice. Jorge (our guide) was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the local history, culture, and tour options. We highly recommend the visit to the Mayan ruins at San Gervasio, and the chocolate tour. Watch out for local time being different from ship time, if you are on a cruise!

NEVER AGAIN
The your promised 2 drunks and an air conditioned vehicle. We got neither. .the driver kept saying he was turning up the air conditioning when he knew it didn't work. Only one air conditioning vent worked, right in front of the driver. It was so hot we felt sick. We skipped the last 2 stops and asked the driver to take us to a restaurant with air conditioning. When we arrived, we asked if he would drive us back to our resort after lunch. He refused saying he only had to be with us for 20 minutes more. He left and we had to take a cab back. Think Trip Advisor should take this company off its list of tours, They are terrible.
Response from the operator: Hello. I did undedtand you aré upset. But please talk with the truth. I just realuzed something was wrong when i saw you comming down from the van at el pueblo del maíz on our second stop AND indid came to you AND ask ifneverything was ok. Day before i did run a tour for 11 Pax with any problem. About your drinks i dont know if youndid not hearing but atvthe first stop indid come AND ask if you want something to drinks AND the group said later AND they buy orang Cruise sodas about the others two stops, you hire me for a 4 tours island tour services from 9 am to 1 PM, after thendecond stop you request going to a restaurant with ac AND ocean View, so i drive you to one. When we got there was 12.40 AND we just have 20 minutos left. When i was trying tonexplain this younwere so rude AND yellow me them you may go, inwill take another can back to my hotel. AND even the rest of the group AND people on the street realize you were upset. I did.make anything wrong, i was trying to do my Best fixing the ac. Very pleasant and informative
Jorge was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable about Cozumel and Mayan history. It’s worth it to have a dedicated guy who can navigate crowds and roads. We learned a lot about the Mayan history and Cozumel’s history.

Great tour!
Totally enjoyed the tour. Jorge did an excellent job of taking us throughout the island and stopped in various beaches, and and we were able to be off the taxi and enjoy the views. Jorge was very kind and has great knowledge about the history of Cozumel! Highly recommend this tour!
via Viator
Personal and intimate
Jorge took us to a unique presentation on the Mayan culture and habits. We personally made and ate corn based masa, and honey sweetened cocoa that we ground from the bean. The kind of personal tour we were looking for.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cozumel Island Tours: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cozumel.
How much does Cozumel Island Tours cost?
+
Prices start at $110 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cozumel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cozumel Island Tours take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cozumel is not rushed.
Is Cozumel Island Tours worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cozumel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cozumel Island Tours?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cozumel Island Tours suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cozumel Island Tours?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cozumel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cozumel and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cozumel Island Tours start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cozumel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cozumel?
+
On Outty we rank every Cozumel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jade Caverns and Mayan Village Cozumel ATV TOUR, Buggy, Beach & Snorkel Blast, ATV 4×4+Cenote+Snorkeling+Beach Club+ Lunch+Sabores de Cozumel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cozumel?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cozumel?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
