About this experience

You will see more scenic beauty & experience nature better on a bike tour than by car. This tour is delivered only by myself, Alasdair and my local colleagues. I am the business owner of Visit Oxford Tours. However, for insurance purposes, these tours are actually booked to be conducted privately via myself as a self employed sole trader offering you a personal service. They are not delivered as a product delivered by Visit Oxford Tours Ltd. This legal distinction will be reconfirmed in writing whenever any booking is received. Default itinerary is 10am to 5.30pm. The Cotswolds is a scenic part of England located only 10 minutes by train from Oxford or less than 30 minutes tax ride from Oxford. Oxford is only 60 minutes from London Paddington station. It's my pleasure to share these sights & heritage with you on an active cycling tour. Participants must be fit and aged 14+ as the Cotswolds roads are lots of up and down cycling but the scenery plus the villages here are beautiful.

What you'll see and do

  1. North Leigh Roman Villa

We will stop here for a brief visit to see the ruins of the sizeable Roman villa. This part of England also has many roads built on what were originally Roman roads. This site is free entry and it's about 4 miles cycle from our start point.

    20 minutes here

  2. Crawley

Crawley is just one of several very picturesque little villages of hamlets which we pass through on the route. You can see many gorgeous traditional Cotswolds stone cottages and quaint gardens in these villages.

  3. This is another scenic village we may pass through. If needed for a drink or a lunch stop, Wilcote also has a pub.

    Pass by without stopping

  4. Minster Lovell

You can see some truly beautifully preserved cottage lanes here and there is also the option to stop for drinks or lunch here too but the main attraction is the ruins of the medieval Minster Lovell manor home and priory.

    60 minutes here

  5. Burford

Burford is commonly known as, 'the gateway to the Cotswolds', thanks partly to its location and to its very historic high street. In fact, this village has appeared in several historic tv dramas on BBC TV. Burford has lots of cafes and shops and we could stop here for afternoon tea, if desired.

Cotswolds One Day Guided Cycle Tour - Private Groups: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oxford.

How much does Cotswolds One Day Guided Cycle Tour - Private Groups cost?

+

Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oxford usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cotswolds One Day Guided Cycle Tour - Private Groups take?

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oxford is not rushed.

Is Cotswolds One Day Guided Cycle Tour - Private Groups worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oxford, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cotswolds One Day Guided Cycle Tour - Private Groups?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cotswolds One Day Guided Cycle Tour - Private Groups suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 14. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Cotswolds One Day Guided Cycle Tour - Private Groups?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oxford can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oxford and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cotswolds One Day Guided Cycle Tour - Private Groups start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oxford within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oxford?

+

On Outty we rank every Oxford experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotswolds in a Day Tour from Moreton-in-Marsh / Stratford-on-Avon, Oxford University Walking Tour With University Alumni Guide, Oxford Official University & City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oxford?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oxford?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
