THEY DID NOT RESPECT WHAT WE BOUGHT
Imagine paying for a tour, arriving at the dock, and there is no one there; no one knew who the operator Isla Sea Tours was. We dialed the cell phone. 55 8850 0658 that appears on the TripAdvisor page and they never answered us, until another operator helped us; he dialed several numbers by cell phone until he found one for Isla Sea Tours. He didn't know he had it on speakerphone and, very nonchalantly, says: -No, today we are not leaving from Punta Sam- in a tone of I'm just waking up- Fortunately, a few minutes later, Mr. Lalo Torres contacted me; we had to move from Punta Sam to Mara Azul, the gentleman. He wouldn't let us leave the parking lot because he didn't have change for $200 pesos; very rudely, they asked us to go change the bill. It is supposed that he should do it; I am the customer and he is the one who doesn't have the change. Anyway, we had to pay for parking again at Mara Azul. We bought this tour because it promised to spend the whole day only in Contoy; we didn't want to go to Isla Mujeres because we have already been many times and have already stayed there, something that of course they were not going to respect for us because this Mara Azul group bought the tour with a 1-hour visit to Isla Mujeres, WHICH MEANS THAT THE TOUR WE BOUGHT FOR THIS DAY DOES NOT EXIST, WHICH IS EQUIVALENT TO A SCAM FOR FORCING US TO GO TO ISLA MUJERES. Finally, the snorkeling is only for people expert at swimming; it is not enough to know how to swim, you have to have physical conditioning because on the snorkeling route you don't stop to contemplate and enjoy. From the moment the yacht dropped us off, they didn't stop swimming until the end where we were waiting for them, approximately 600 m or more. We didn't enjoy the island 100% because the time went by very quickly, and it is excellent for staying. The hour they took away from us for Isla Mujeres, we happened to see a young woman who took sunscreen out of her backpack, and I think a biologist came down very upset, yelling at the girl that she already knew she couldn't take anything off the yacht, much less use sunscreen on the beach. Very bad for this girl; it was a very embarrassing moment for everyone present. The good thing, besides experiencing THE ISLAND A LITTLE, is that the staff made a great effort so that we all had excellent service at all times; they offered us beer and water, the food was a 10, and everything was well explained. To them, even though they are part of the operator that scammed us by not fulfilling what was promised, a thousand thanks.

Why this scores 49
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Contoy Island Snorkeling Tour Food & Drinks: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Contoy Island Snorkeling Tour Food & Drinks cost?
+
Prices start at $139 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Contoy Island Snorkeling Tour Food & Drinks take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Contoy Island Snorkeling Tour Food & Drinks worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Contoy Island Snorkeling Tour Food & Drinks?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Contoy Island Snorkeling Tour Food & Drinks suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Contoy Island Snorkeling Tour Food & Drinks?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Contoy Island Snorkeling Tour Food & Drinks start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chichen Itza from Cancun : Cenote, Valladolid and Mayan Cuisine, Early Access to Chichen Itza with optional pick-up, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
