Coba and Punta Laguna
One of the best experiences we had in Yucatan, highly recommended day trip from PDC. First of all, everything was taken care down to the last detail. Juan, our guide, was really knowledgeable and ready to accommodate any ad-hoc requests. We also visited punta Laguna where we had lots of fun spotting spider and howl monkeys, canoeing in the lake, even a zip-line activity was included All in all a very nice memory
Response from the operator: We’re really happy to hear this was one of your best experiences in the Yucatán and that you enjoyed every part of the day. Thank you for your trust and for recommending us—it means a lot to our team!

very good experience of Mayan ruins
Visit to Coba was amazing as an ancient ruins, Mayan ruins. Site was very safe and well maintained. Must need guide to appreciate the visit otherwise it is meaningless. Facility at Coba was very well balanced without destroying the ruin aspect. It's not developed. Must arrange transportation to come back. Cenotes are good if you want to experience to swim in undergrounds cave. Both of the cenotes were smaller than Olympic size pool. Water was clean to swim. 10 minutes swim is enough for excitement. visually Coba and Centoes are not appealing. but you go for the experience. Nothing else to do there. 1.5 hr drive from Playa del Carmen on not-so-good road. Spent $420 for two and about 1/2 day for a round trip from Playa del Carmen in a private van with a driver, Rodri and an amazing tour guide Josh from Absolute Adventures.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your detailed feedback—we’re glad to hear you had a very good experience and enjoyed the visit overall. We truly appreciate your comments and thank you for choosing us for your Coba tour!

Great Experience
We used Absolute Adventure Mexico a few days before for the private Chichen Itza tour and decided to use them again for our Coba tour. Cristina was very accommodating and arrived with a little larger van for our party of 6 adults. So very thoughtful. We would all recommend them for your tour. Comfortable and safe accommodations.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for choosing us and booking a second tour! We're glad you enjoyed Coba ruins as well!

Perfect day
We were beyond pleased with Absolute Adventure! Josh and Javi took us on a Coba and Cenote tour and the day was perfect! Pick up was on time. Josh, our guide, was knowledgeable and helpful at all the destinations. He brought a tablet with some great visual references for us to see at the Coba archeological site as well as verbally telling us about the site and the Mayan culture. He got many group pictures of us at the best sites. Coba Cenotes were magical. The company provided everything we needed for the day - and the company's list of what to bring with you was spot on! Listen to them :) Lunch destination was delicious and ordered ahead by our guide so it was very efficient and quick. I would 100% recommend Absolute Adventure and give a 6 out of 5 star rating to Josh and Javi.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your excellent review and for recommending our private tour agency! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a positive experience with us. It was our pleasure to show you around, and we look forward to having the opportunity to do so again soon!

Magical Maya
Our day exploring Mayan ruins and swimming in two cenotes was fabulous. Our guide Josh was knowledgeable and great at answering our questions. Biking through the jungle to the ruins added another level of fun. We swam in two underground cenotes for a magical experience. Our group ages ranged from 5 to 69 and Josh accommodated us all. Lunch at a local restaurant was delicious. Our driver Javi was very kind and drove us safely.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! We are thrilled to hear that you had an excellent experience with us. Your feedback means a lot to us, and we look forward to welcoming you again soon!

Why this scores 85
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Coba Private Tour – Ancient Ruins & Refreshing Cenote Swim: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does Coba Private Tour – Ancient Ruins & Refreshing Cenote Swim cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Coba Private Tour – Ancient Ruins & Refreshing Cenote Swim take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is Coba Private Tour – Ancient Ruins & Refreshing Cenote Swim worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 87 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Coba Private Tour – Ancient Ruins & Refreshing Cenote Swim?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Coba Private Tour – Ancient Ruins & Refreshing Cenote Swim suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Coba Private Tour – Ancient Ruins & Refreshing Cenote Swim?
+
Around 30 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Coba Private Tour – Ancient Ruins & Refreshing Cenote Swim start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
