Glass bottom kayak adventure
Our family recently did a clear-bottom kayak tour out of Sarasota, and we absolutely loved it! From the initial booking process to the moment we pulled away after the tour, everything was smooth sailing. They were a pleasure to work with, and we will definitely be booking another tour with them! Our tour guide, Olivia, was amazing! She was incredibly accommodating with my boys, ages 8, 7, and 5, and made sure they were engaged and having fun the entire time. She was extremely knowledgeable about the local sea life and did such a great job sharing that knowledge with us. We had manatees swimming right next to our kayaks for just about the entire tour, which was such an incredible experience! Olivia even went out of her way to get out of her kayak and dig around for cool shells and smaller marine life, like sea urchins, so the boys could see them up close. They absolutely loved it! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this tour, especially for families with kids!

A big let down, night tour
Not sure if it was just the one particular night we went on this tour, but we saw basically nothing. Saw A couple large whelks, but that was about it. Ended up stopping at a small island and everyone got out and walked around using their cell phone lights. Stayed there for 20+ minutes. I think the guide knew we weren’t going to see anything in the water so he was killing time. Waste of money. I do wonder if it’s better during the day.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent night kayak tour. We regret that your experience was disappointing and did not meet your expectations. We understand your frustration with seeing limited sealife, specifically only a couple of large whelks. While sealife sightings are inherently dependent on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed, with every night being different, our guides do not know in advance what sealife will be present. Our aim is to ensure that even when conditions are less than ideal for abundant sealife, the tour remains engaging and dynamic, providing a valuable experience for all our guests. We are addressing the specific points you raised about the tour's flow and content. We appreciate your positive note about the lighted kayaks and the nighttime setting, and your curiosity about daytime tours. Our daytime tours do indeed offer a distinct experience, though they come with their own considerations such as sun reflection on the water and typically more boat traffic. We value your feedback as it is crucial for our continuous improvement. We would like to offer you and your family a complimentary tour on your next visit to the area, hoping to provide a truly memorable and educational experience that reflects our standards. Please contact us directly to arrange this.

Larry and the Dolphins is worth every penny.
Larry was great and very informative. Made it really fun and easy. We were able to see a once in a lifetime family of dolphins up close in action and swimming under our kayak. Also We were able to find various awesome shells and found one shell that he said was the 2nd biggest anyone has ever found. Time went by too fast ! Thanks Larry !

Excellent guide
Natascha was an excellent guide. We didn't get to see a lot of marine life, but she kept the group engaged and entertained.

Relaxing and interesting for everyone
Knowledgeable, extremely qualified guide (Natascha) is the primary reason to do this tour. Also just fun to get in a boat and paddle around in the water. Clear plastic boats not terribly comfortable but functional. Expect to get at least partially wet while paddling. No guarantee to see interesting water creatures but we saw crabs, various birds, fish, anemone's and a sort of jellyfish. Not exhausting or intense, slow-paced and relaxing.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Clear Kayak Glass Bottom Day Tour - Sarasota: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sarasota.
How much does Clear Kayak Glass Bottom Day Tour - Sarasota cost?
+
Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sarasota usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Clear Kayak Glass Bottom Day Tour - Sarasota take?
+
Plan for about 1.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sarasota is not rushed.
Is Clear Kayak Glass Bottom Day Tour - Sarasota worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sarasota, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Clear Kayak Glass Bottom Day Tour - Sarasota?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Clear Kayak Glass Bottom Day Tour - Sarasota suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Clear Kayak Glass Bottom Day Tour - Sarasota?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sarasota can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sarasota and add a light layer if any part of the 1.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Clear Kayak Glass Bottom Day Tour - Sarasota start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sarasota within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sarasota?
+
Sarasota runs dolphin and manatee boat tours out of Sarasota Bay, kayak trips through Lido Key mangroves, Siesta Key beach days and visits to the Ringling estate. On Outty we rank every Sarasota experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sarasota Guided Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Tour, Sarasota Mangrove Tunnel Guided Kayak Adventure, Manatee Discovery Anna Maria Island. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sarasota?
+
November to April for dry weather and calm bay water. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sarasota?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
