What you get

    About this experience

Paddle into one of Lido Key’s most unique eco-adventures: the mangrove tunnels. This guided kayak tour takes you through calm, winding waterways where mangrove branches create shaded “tunnels” overhead—quiet, beautiful, and full of life. Along the way, our friendly local guides share fun, easy-to-understand info about the mangrove ecosystem and help you spot wildlife like coastal birds, fish, rays, and—when they’re around—manatees and dolphins. Booking is simple: reserve by the number of guests in your group, and the type of watercraft you prefer (single kayaks, tandem kayaks or stand up paddleboards). Our goal is to keep everyone comfortable and having a great time on the water. What sets us apart: We're Hawaii transplants who brought our love for the ocean to Sarasota. We're the only outfitter offering kids' programs and maintain a 5-star TripAdvisor rating. Note: Guides may make changes to routes and equipment based on conditions and safety.

Best Kayak Tour in Sarasota! Dolphins!

We had a great time! Dolphins swam right next to us. Our guide, Joe, was so knowledgeable about the wildlife and the history. It truly was an amazing time. Anyone can do it.

Great Guide, Lots Of Wildlife, 10 out of 10!

It was an excellent tour. Our tour guide, Drew, was knowledgeable about the mangroves and wildlife, while also letting us enjoy the scenery in silence. I would most certainly recommend this tour to anyone asking me about what to do in the Sarasota area. In addition, the tour was reasonably priced and allowed us to see really cool birds from the water such as the osprey and the ibis.

    Beautiful Excursion

The mangrove excursions is a great experience because of the beauty of the wildlife and the mangrove area. It's not very dependent on the 'tour guide' per se as long as he or she is reasonably knowledgeable you will have a fabulous time! On our particular Excursion by Surfit, the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the animals the wildlife Etc and to that I give him high marks. But I did not think it was professional nor appropriate to suggest and almost guilt trip you to giving a five-star review. Please, that's not appropriate! The people helping you on and off your Boats were very friendly and very polite. I would recommend wearing water shoes. And use 'Badger' or other water friendly sunscreens that use zinc oxide as the active ingredient (as some of these commercial spray-on sunscreens are so toxic they just kill water life not to mention do anything good for your health) Picture is one of the birds that would swim under your boat to catch fish that your oars scare away!

    Nice time

Seabiscuit was our guide who was amazing!! Great knowledge and fun facts plus lots of humor. Unfortunately we saw no manatees or dolphins. I do think the price was a little expensive.

Mangrove Tunnel & Manatee Kayak Eco-Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sarasota.

How much does Mangrove Tunnel & Manatee Kayak Eco-Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sarasota usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mangrove Tunnel & Manatee Kayak Eco-Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sarasota is not rushed.

Is Mangrove Tunnel & Manatee Kayak Eco-Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 93 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 1,112 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Sarasota, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mangrove Tunnel & Manatee Kayak Eco-Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mangrove Tunnel & Manatee Kayak Eco-Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mangrove Tunnel & Manatee Kayak Eco-Tour?

    +

Around 389 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sarasota can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sarasota and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mangrove Tunnel & Manatee Kayak Eco-Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sarasota within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sarasota?

    +

Sarasota runs dolphin and manatee boat tours out of Sarasota Bay, kayak trips through Lido Key mangroves, Siesta Key beach days and visits to the Ringling estate. On Outty we rank every Sarasota experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sarasota Guided Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Tour, Sarasota Mangrove Tunnel Guided Kayak Adventure, Manatee Discovery Anna Maria Island. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sarasota?

    +

November to April for dry weather and calm bay water. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sarasota?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
