Great time on the water!
Andrew was our tour guide and he killed it. He always kept the conversation going, is very knowledgeable and has some good jokes. The tour itself was fun as well. Unfortunately we had some severe weather about halfway through our guide, but Andrew kept calm and escorted us back to the drop in safely and efficiently. We were offered a half refund or another tour tomorrow for the trouble. Unfortunately this is our last day in town so we took the half refund. 10/10 would recommend. We will come back next time we visit!

Great kayak tour for all the family!
Our booked tour was cancelled due to adverse weather, but it was well communicated and offered options to reschedule, which we did without issue for the next day. Lachlan was our tour guide and got us set up with our Kayaks and equipment. He was very friendly and put everyone at ease, including those who had little or no experience of Kayaking. We had a great time exploring the area and unfortunately we were not lucky enough to see any dolphins or Manatee, but Lachlan did take us to many areas to look. We also visited the beautiful beer can island and another area where we could get out of the Kayaks, have a swim and see some other marine life such as a spider crab and conch, which Lachlan found to show us. Lachlan was extremely knowledgeable on the area and wildlife, sharing some very interesting information as we went. Post tour he also shared a location which we visited later that day and got to see many wild manatee. 5 star tour and experience. Would recommend.

Very fun excursion!
Great guides and a fun and beautiful excursion. We didn't see any Manatees but we did see a dolphin up close so that was really neat. The area is really pretty and we thoroughly enjoyed it. After the tour, the guides told us where to go to see Manatees and one of the guides went there to make sure we knew what to do. There were about 10 of them there so, in the end, we got to see our manatees!

Best Manatee Kayak Tour
I would highly recommend this tour! It was a 2-hr tour but our guides spent an extra 1/2 hour with us because a group of manatees swam around our kayaks! Ben and Calling were wonderful, spending a lot of time explaining about the sea life we saw. Don’t miss this kayak tour!

Lovely day on the water
We didn’t see a manatee but really enjoyed paddling across the bay, up a canal with mangroves and to an island for a walk. All in all a very good experience and our guide Lacklan was very informative and kind.

Why this scores 93
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Manatee Discovery Anna Maria Island: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sarasota.
How much does Manatee Discovery Anna Maria Island cost?
+
Prices start at $55 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sarasota usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Manatee Discovery Anna Maria Island take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sarasota is not rushed.
Is Manatee Discovery Anna Maria Island worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 93 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 607 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Sarasota, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule Manatee Discovery Anna Maria Island?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Manatee Discovery Anna Maria Island suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Manatee Discovery Anna Maria Island?
+
Around 212 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sarasota can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sarasota and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Manatee Discovery Anna Maria Island start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sarasota within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sarasota?
+
Sarasota runs dolphin and manatee boat tours out of Sarasota Bay, kayak trips through Lido Key mangroves, Siesta Key beach days and visits to the Ringling estate. On Outty we rank every Sarasota experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sarasota Guided Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Tour, Sarasota Mangrove Tunnel Guided Kayak Adventure, Siesta Key Electric Bike Sunset Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sarasota?
+
November to April for dry weather and calm bay water. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sarasota?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
