Day out in Rome
We had an absolutely fantastic experience with our driver, Lucio, who took us from Civitavecchia Port into Rome for a day visiting the Colosseum and Vatican City. From the moment we were picked up, Lucio was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. The journey was smooth and comfortable, and he made us feel completely at ease straight away. His local knowledge really enhanced our trip — he gave us helpful tips, suggested the best times and routes to avoid crowds, and ensured we made the most out of our limited time in Rome. What really stood out was his reliability and organisation. Everything ran perfectly to schedule, which made the day completely stress-free. He dropped us off at ideal locations for both the Colosseum and the Vatican, making access quick and easy, and was always ready and waiting exactly when agreed. Lucio truly went above and beyond to make our visit special. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, professional driver who genuinely cares about your experience, we would highly recommend him. A 5-star service from start to finish!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your amazing and detailed review! We are truly delighted to hear that Lucio made your day trip from Civitavecchia to Rome such a memorable and stress-free experience. His professionalism, friendliness, and local knowledge are qualities we value greatly, and we’re so pleased that his recommendations and careful planning helped you make the most of your time visiting the Colosseum and Vatican City. It’s wonderful to know that everything ran smoothly and on schedule, allowing you to simply relax and enjoy your day. We will be sure to share your kind words with Lucio — he will be thrilled to know his efforts made such a positive impact on your visit. Thank you again for choosing DriverInRome, and we hope to welcome you back to Italy for another fantastic experience in the future!

What an incredible day in Rome made even more special by Costinel - our knowledgeable, helpful and friendly driver
What an incredible 9 hour day in Rome packed with history, food, incredible sites, photo vantage stops and helpful tips!!! We promptly were picked up by Costinel outside our Ship in Civitavecchia. He greeted us warmly and led us to his immaculate car parked very close by. He asked us questions about the things we wanted to do for the day and was fully aware of the pre-trip communications we had with the office outlining our goals for the day. The home office also secured timed tickets for us at the Colosseum which were invaluable given the hoards of tourists in Rome over the holidays. Please note we previously had been to Rome (including Vatican City) years before so we tailored this visit to things we wanted to do again. Costinel mapped out a route that included all of our requests - and more special spots along the way. He was able to share history and facts about each and every site and surprised us with special items along the way. Here was our initial request to DriverinRome - "The Colosseum/Roman Forum/Palantine Hill, Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, Pantheon, Trastevere, Fontana di piazza delle Cinque Scole, and other famous and interesting local spots" ... along with stops for Roman pizza, gelato, and Italian coffee! Costinel knew where to take us and when and if he didn't know something by the time we returned to the car for the next stop he had researched it and mapped it out (and even made a lunch Rezzie for us at a packed and delicious pizza place). I can't recommend Costinel and Driverin Rome highly enough. The only regret I have is we didn't get a picture with our amazing Costinel.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and wonderful review! We are truly delighted to hear that your 9-hour day in Rome was such a memorable and fulfilling experience. We’re especially happy to know that Costinel made your visit seamless and special—from the warm pickup in Civitavecchia and the immaculate vehicle, to thoughtfully tailoring the itinerary based on your prior communications and past visit to Rome. It’s great to hear how much you appreciated the timed Colosseum tickets, the carefully planned route, the historical insights, and of course the delicious stops for pizza, gelato, and coffee ☕🍕🍨. Costinel will be thrilled to hear your kind words about his dedication, knowledge, and extra effort—researching on the go and even securing a lunch reservation during a busy holiday period truly reflects the level of service we strive to provide. Thank you again for your high recommendation of both Costinel and DriverinRome Tours and Transportation. We hope to welcome you back on your next visit to Italy—and next time, we’ll make sure you get that photo together! 😊

Private car to Rome tour
Since Rome is over an hour from the cruise ship port and you cannot use Uber nor any online car booking in Italy, it will save you a lot of time if you hire a private car. Our driver was very good at giving us the background of the attractions and also introduced us to a great local restaurant, tasty good and good price. We saw many local eating there.
Response from the operator: Hello rcptang! Thank you for rating us with five stars. It means so much to us as it helps motivate us to continue serving our customers with the best quality service. Please choose us again next time.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lake Bracciano.
How much does Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Rome Private Tour with Spanish Speaking Driver cost?

+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 43 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Lake Bracciano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Rome Private Tour with Spanish Speaking Driver?
+

+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Rome Private Tour with Spanish Speaking Driver?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lake Bracciano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lake Bracciano and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Rome Private Tour with Spanish Speaking Driver start and how do I get there?
+

What are the best things to do in Lake Bracciano?
+
On Outty we rank every Lake Bracciano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Best of Rome Private Tour, Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia, VIP Tour of Rome (3/5/8hrs) Colosseum & Vatican Museums. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lake Bracciano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lake Bracciano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
