Trip to Harpers Ferry and Anteitam tour
When I booked the tour I did not realize it was a bundle, I thought it was only for Antietam so that was my mistake. Evidently there may just be ones for one specific battlefield so make sure you choose only what you want. The app was easy to download on your phone but it took a couple of times for it to actually work. Once it started to work it was fine, it was easy to follow and the sound was clear. Once we got to the Observation Tower we exited the car to get a closer look. Once we got back in the app stopped working and we had no sound or directions for the rest of the battlefield. That was a complete disappointment. I feel that I wasted my money

History lessons all week!
Definitely needed more time. From the battlefields to learning about the townspeople who helped with the aftermath at the train station we learned so much about the three day battle. We did private battlefield tour, double decker bus tour, diaroma, train station tour, Wills house, Shriver House, Jenny Wade House, various shops in town, and even the Lions Potter just out of town by Artillery Ridge Campground where we stayed! We will return again!
Response from the operator: Thomas, I’m thrilled you had such a rich and immersive experience with my Historic Battlefields Self-Guided Driving Tour Bundle! Amazingly, it sounds like you dove into everything from the battlefield stories to exploring the town's history! Suppose you're eager to discover even more. In that case, my collection of over 100 self-guided driving and walking tours is the perfect way to continue your journey, offering the same flexibility and in-depth storytelling. Happy travels!

Epic fail
App would not work properly!!! Very frustrated! We would not recommend this tour. We ended up just guiding ourselves.
Response from the operator: Sorry to hear the app wasn't working smoothly, Laurie! The tours are designed to guide you from the starting point, so if you started somewhere else, it might've gotten confused. Our support team is generally on hand from 5 AM to 5 PM EST in case of glitches. In the meantime, I can get you a full refund. Please send us a refund request or shoot me an email.

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Civil War Battlefields Self-Guided Audio Driving Tour Bundle: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Gettysburg.
How much does Civil War Battlefields Self-Guided Audio Driving Tour Bundle cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Gettysburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Civil War Battlefields Self-Guided Audio Driving Tour Bundle take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Gettysburg is not rushed.
Is Civil War Battlefields Self-Guided Audio Driving Tour Bundle worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Gettysburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Civil War Battlefields Self-Guided Audio Driving Tour Bundle?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Civil War Battlefields Self-Guided Audio Driving Tour Bundle suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Civil War Battlefields Self-Guided Audio Driving Tour Bundle?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Gettysburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Gettysburg and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Civil War Battlefields Self-Guided Audio Driving Tour Bundle start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Gettysburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Gettysburg?
+
Gettysburg is a guide town: licensed battlefield guides in your own car, bus and horseback battlefield tours, ghost lantern walks and museum entries covering the three-day battle. On Outty we rank every Gettysburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2-Hour Gettysburg Battlefield Guided History Bus Tour with a National Park Guide, Spirits of Jennie Wade Ghost Night Tour in Gettysburg, Echoes of War All Ages Ghost Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Gettysburg?
+
April to June and September to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Gettysburg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
