      Pass by without stopping

    2. Your journey from Florence to the Cinque Terre starts by coach, where you can relax as your guide shares stories about the area. You'll hear tales about the Tuscan city of Lucca and its famous resident Puccini and see the Carrara marble quarries from the distance before learning about the Cinque Terre and its five fishing villages—Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Monterosso and Riomaggiore—that form the national park. Once you arrive in La Spezia, your expert tour leader will be there to guide you through the next part of your journey. Following their helpful instructions and insights, you’ll make your way to board the train and continue your adventure.

      120 minutes here

    3. Arriving by train, you’ll explore the beautiful village of Manarola, one of the most iconic towns of the Cinque Terre. With its colorful houses perched above the sea, narrow lanes, and charming piazza overlooking the water, Manarola offers a truly unforgettable setting. Take time to wander through the village, enjoy the views of the Ligurian coastline, and soak up the relaxed atmosphere of this historic fishing community. For those who wish, there is also an optional walk led by your tour leader that climbs above the village to reach spectacular panoramic viewpoints. Along the way, you’ll pass through the terraced vineyards that define the Cinque Terre landscape while enjoying breathtaking views of the coastline and the sparkling sea below.

      60 minutes here

    4. Your journey continues to Corniglia, the only village of the Cinque Terre perched high above the sea. Unlike the other towns, Corniglia sits on a rocky promontory surrounded by terraced vineyards, offering breathtaking views over the coastline and the sparkling Ligurian Sea. With its quiet charm, colorful houses, and narrow lanes, it feels like a peaceful retreat away from the crowds. Take time to wander through the small streets, admire the scenic viewpoints, and experience the authentic atmosphere of this unique village. You will also have free time to enjoy lunch, giving you the opportunity to relax at a local restaurant or café and savor the flavors of Ligurian cuisine before continuing your adventure.

      60 minutes here

    5. After lunch comes the real adventure: a hike of approximately two miles along the medieval mule trails that skirt the cliffs and connect the hilltop towns of the Cinque Terre (if you choose the tour option without hiking, the train will be used instead to move between villages). You will leave the trail when you reach the village of Vernazza, one of the prettiest and most characteristic areas you will see on the Cinque Terre tour. Here you will have some free time to sit in one of the cheerful bars and cafés or even have a cooling swim in the sea – it’s the perfect time to get refreshed and prepare for the next part of the tour.

      60 minutes here

    6. After departing Vernazza, the group will take a short train ride to Monterosso, a village renowned for its beautiful beach and artisan shops. Here you will have the option to relax on the golden sands, browse the shops for souvenirs or even sample some local wine.

      60 minutes here

    7. Depending on the weather conditions the next part of the experience is an optional boat ride along the coast to Riomaggiore (subject to weather and same-day confirmation + payment), that can be reached otherwise by train. Riomaggiore is the southernmost town of the Cinque Terre and one of its most picturesque. Colorful houses cascade down the steep hillside toward the small harbor, creating the iconic scene that has made this village famous around the world.

      120 minutes here

    8. For guests who have chosen the Pisa option, the journey concludes with a visit to this historic Tuscan city, famous around the world for its remarkable architectural treasures. Upon arrival, you will head to the spectacular Piazza dei Miracoli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to some of Italy’s most celebrated monuments. Here you’ll have time to admire the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa, the magnificent Cathedral, and the impressive Baptistery, all set within the beautiful green lawns of the square. Take the opportunity to capture memorable photos of the famous tower and soak in the unique atmosphere of this historic city. This visit to Pisa marks the final stop of the tour for those who have selected the Pisa option, offering a perfect ending to a day filled with unforgettable sights and experiences.

      60 minutes here

    9. Florence

After a day filled with unforgettable sights, it’s time to relax and begin the comfortable journey back to Florence. Sit back aboard your coach and enjoy the scenic drive through the beautiful Tuscan and Ligurian landscapes as you reflect on the charming villages, breathtaking coastal views, and memorable moments of the day. You will arrive back in Florence in the evening, bringing your Cinque Terre adventure to a pleasant and relaxing conclusion.

    Add an unforgettable experience

Coco was the best! She really made the whole experience the most memorable for us. Once you check in at the meeting point, you walk about 5min to get on the bus. On the way, each guide talks through your itinerary for the day. BRING CASH! The Pisa tour has an option to take a boat cruise back from Monterosso to Riomaggiore (The hiking tour has boat option and lunch option) The guides will collect 15euros per person to get everyone the tickets for the boat. If not, you will ride the train back. There was plenty of time in each village to explore on your own. Plenty of time to swim in Monterosso so make sure to pack a towel and change of clothes. Take Coco's recommendations for food and you will have the perfect time. Highlights of the day in order: Coco > Monterosso > Vernazza > Boat cruise > Riomaggiore > Pisa

Cinque Terre Day Trip with Optional Hiking or Pisa from Florence: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Florence.

How much does Cinque Terre Day Trip with Optional Hiking or Pisa from Florence cost?

    +

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Florence usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cinque Terre Day Trip with Optional Hiking or Pisa from Florence take?

    +

Plan for about 13 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Florence is not rushed.

Is Cinque Terre Day Trip with Optional Hiking or Pisa from Florence worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 91 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 8,863 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cinque Terre Day Trip with Optional Hiking or Pisa from Florence?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cinque Terre Day Trip with Optional Hiking or Pisa from Florence suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 13-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cinque Terre Day Trip with Optional Hiking or Pisa from Florence?

    +

Around 3,102 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 13-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cinque Terre Day Trip with Optional Hiking or Pisa from Florence start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Florence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Florence?

    +

On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Florence?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Florence?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
