The Cinque Terre are a rugged stretch of coast of the eastern Ligurian Riviera (La Spezia Riviera) located in the territory of the province of La Spezia, between Punta Mesco and Punta di Montenero, in which there are five villages (three municipalities and two hamlets) or, as they used to say in ancient times, "lands", which listed from north to south are: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore.

Levanto
The town of Levanto is of ancient foundation, nestled in a valley covered with olive trees, vines and pines and directly overlooking the sea. In case of Transfer Only option this is the drop off point, where you can start your tour by your own. The ridges of the valley end in the sea with the Mesco promontory and the tip of Levanto. Part of its territory also falls within the Cinque Terre National Park and the Cinque Terre Marine Protected Area.

A nice day
Overall, we were glad we went. Seeing the ingenuity of living on hillsides was cool. We were disenchanted by how touristy it was. Boardwalk eateries and tourist shops abound.

It was challenging but worth to do it especially a chance to swim in such blue water . The view of the villages was spectacular and picturesque.

Cinque Terre is...
Cinque Terre is beautiful. The tour was well organized and our guide knowledgeable and friendly. The description of where to meet for the tour was not great. We walked around the Termini multiple times - the viator app description should have matched the notes from the service provider.

Cinque Terre should not be missed!
Cinque Terre is amazing and should not be missed. It is beautiful and this tour allows you plenty of time to explore without being stuck in a large group. That is good because the tour guide was not good. He was sick and admitted to us that he had a fever and cough. The radios worked as far as we knew but the guide would not speak into the microsphone so you could not hear nor understand him. The only negative outside of this was that the ferry was crammed packed and you could not s e the coastline well from the inside seats. Make sure you bring your swimwear. The sea at Monterosso is crystal clear.

Tour guide sick with fever and flu symptoms.
The host arrived, complaining about being sick with a cold and running a fever. He in fact became so sick he was unable to complete the tour. This is completely unacceptable. He exposed all the guests who are traveling in bus and in return, we will expose everyone we travel with internationally.
