An absolute blast - simply the best

Absolutely the best thing we did all week. Pick up from the hotel and taken to the Ferry port. Speed boat to Gozo -brilliant experience on it's own. Met off the boat by amazingly friendly, happy drivers who helped us into the new fleet of jeeps. And we were off. The tour started in daylight and we were taken to see some of the beautiful views from various viewing places. Full information about each place was given to us by the driver. I don't remember her name - she is the wife of one of the other drivers - she was incredible. Funny, very fast but safe. She kept us entertained with local information and Christmas music playing. We arrived at the highest point on the island at sunset and had time to wander round, I think it was The Citadel? Gorgeous. Back in the jeep and travelling really fast, or so it seems, up narrow streets and slowing or stopping so many times to look at the beautiful and pretty Christmas lights in the villages, and residents own homes. They invite you to view them. They are amazing, beautiful and so Christmassy. Gozo does Christmas in style. The artistry and creativity of local people who sculpt and build the most amazing models on a huge scale, of the birthplace of Jesus. They are located in various buildings around the island. The models have animated fires burning, animals that move, village folk going about their daily tasks like making bread, feeding chickens that peck the ground and move around, herding animals, sweeping and so much more. around the birthplace of Jesus which is depicted as a cave like feature in the hillside models. They have to be seen to be believed. We were lucky to arrive when the massive glass bottle Christmas tree, archway and promenade style lights were being tested ready for the official switch on. If anyone is coming this next month it is an absolute blast of a tour. You MUST do it. Worth every penny and lasts till late evening. You will not be disappointed. Ferry back to mainland Malta and driven back to the hotel.

    Christmas tour of Gozo

Poor organization and virtually absent assistance. I had booked another tour months ago and only three days before the date they cancelled it to propose the Christmas tour. The problem is that we risked not doing this either, because only 2 hours before the tour we are asked for availability for a date change, which is not possible for us. In the end we insisted on the tour, but we had nothing in hand, no tickets, no names of the guides or drivers. The tour itself fits and we had a very nice and prepared guide, thanks Giorgio! Otherwise... absolutely not.

    Disappointing.

Completely broken organization. The shuttle never picked us up from the hotel and at the end of the tour we had to walk 25 minutes under 35oC to reach the port... Great experience, really! The CM seems to never reply to messages on purpose, just putting on “sights” after being asked to pick us up. That said, once they arrived in Gozo, everything went quite well: beautiful scenery, jeep ride, boat ride, pleasant meal and even a small tasting of local products. In short, a great experience... if only the organization had followed behind. 👍

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What should I bring or wear?

    +

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Valletta?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Valletta?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
