⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 We had a fantastic experience with Amigo Tours! We would like to especially thank our guides, Sexy Marcela and Manuel Tequila, and our driver José, for making this day so special. Marcela and Manuel were extremely friendly, fun, professional and passionate about Mexican history and culture. The explanations were very interesting and made us visit each place with a different and more enriched look. A thank you also to José, who transported us safely and with great professionalism throughout the whole journey. It was a very well-organized day, full of unforgettable moments, good disposition and lots of learning. We bring with us excellent memories and recommend Amigo Tours without any hesitation. Thank you for contributing to make our trip to Mexico even more special!

Be very careful. This company will rip you off and do not provide what was advertised and paid for.

We paid for a full day tour to Chichen Itzá, a swim in a cenote, lunch and a visit to Valladolid. We weren’t the only ones on our coach to be misled. The tour was meant to start at 8am and go straight to Chichen Itzá. We then got an email to say it was later and we eventually left the bus stop at 8:43. We didn’t go to Chichen Itzá, but to the Mayan village where there is a beautiful cenote. We had paid for lunch but the tour guides refused to accept the email confirmation we had received. Neither of them knew how much lunch would cost and did absolute nothing to find out or help. It was a case of the ‘computer says no’. Their organisation is complete chaos. Some people had paid online for the tourist fees at Chichen Itzá and the guides were saying they hadn’t. This left us without food and blood sugar levels dropping which for someone with an insulin based condition can be challenging. We had half an hour at Valladolid. A pretty square and church and the chance to buy a bag of crisps which is all we had to eat all day. Now for the grand finale. The tour advertised 2.5 hours at Chichen Itzá. Given the onsite team there start to usher people out at 4:30, it was clear that wasn’t going to happen. The guide then said it would be two hours. When we got there, he changed it to 1.5 hours saying he had never said two hours. We, and others, challenged this and he blamed everyone else. No apologies. At one point, he even came right into my face and said ‘let me do my job’ and said it was only me. I was actually representing a few people in the group who were disgruntled. This was very intimidating. At no point did we get an apology. In the end, we only really had an hour there as we had to get back to a meeting point by a certain time. This was meant to be a very special trip for us for very personal reasons which I had shared with the guides. We only travelled to Mexico from Panamá to do this, and only this. The unempathetic guides completely ruined it. It is something we will never get back. Amigo Tours also send you an email the night before to pay your taxes online. Beware they are more than what you would pay on arrival. In summary, they take money but don’t deliver what they advertise, blaming the online platforms and their guests.
