Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara
Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara Wat Chedi Luang, this temple is the site of an enormous pagoda, originally 280 feet high, and which was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. At one time, Wat Chedi Luang housed the revered Emerlad Buddha image now enshrined in Bangkok’s Wat Phra Kaew. One of Wat Chedi Luang’s most striking architectural features is a magnificent Naga staircase adorns the chapel’s front.

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is Chiang Mai’s most sacred temple, perched on Doi Suthep Mountain overlooking the city. Founded in the 14th century, the temple is famous for its gleaming golden chedi, ornate Lanna architecture, and panoramic views of Chiang Mai. Reached by a grand naga-lined staircase, it is an important pilgrimage site and a must-visit cultural landmark in northern Thailand.

Wat Pha Lat
Wat Pha Lat This temple is the ancient precursor (lower on the mountain) than Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. While a little less grand than it's younger sibling, it is steep with history, reverence, and peace. Boasting beautiful views of the city of Chang Mai, it is built on a stream with a series of waterfalls. A terrific place for meditation or simple reflection. Go!!

Tha Phae Gateve
Tha Phae Gate Romantic, Beautiful, Enchanting - these are the three words that I could sum up experiencing one of Chiang Mai's historic gates - The Tha Phae gate. When the city was founded by King Mangrai in 1296 these gates together with other gates (Chang Puak, Chiang Mai, Pratu Soan Dok) protect the old city. Tha Phae gate lies on the east of the city and made of Red bricks stone Conclude your half-day tour with the return to your Chiang Mai hotel.

A A tour filled with beauty and history!
This tour was a wonderful way to see some of the most beautiful and iconic places in Bangkok! Our guide, Pui, brought everything to life for us with her deep knowledge of the history of Thailand and the Royal families. We felt like we packed a huge amount of knowledge into just 4 hours and our senses were overwhelmed with the sheer beauty of the workmanship in the palace and temples and the depth of the spirituality and devotion that is in evidence everywhere you look. I highly recommend this tour and Pui as a guide!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.
How much does Chiang Mai Highlights Tour by Red Truck with Doi Suthep Temple cost?

How long does Chiang Mai Highlights Tour by Red Truck with Doi Suthep Temple take?
+

Is Chiang Mai Highlights Tour by Red Truck with Doi Suthep Temple worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Chiang Mai Highlights Tour by Red Truck with Doi Suthep Temple?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Chiang Mai Highlights Tour by Red Truck with Doi Suthep Temple suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Chiang Mai Highlights Tour by Red Truck with Doi Suthep Temple?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Chiang Mai Highlights Tour by Red Truck with Doi Suthep Temple start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?
+
On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
