You must do this morning old town tour!
Farm was an amazing guide! This is a must do! My only wish is that I did it earlier in my trip to explore all those hidden cafes and eateries in the small side streets. We also saw temples and markets. Very enjoyable 10/10 🙌🏼

It is wonderful to hear the tour was a highlight of your trip. We always recommend booking early to make the most of our local tips! A nicer way to see Chiang Mai
Easy ride through the old town. My guide Farm was knowledgeable and flexible. As I was the only person in the group, I asked if we could travel a bit further. I loved it, especially along the canal. Bike was in good condition and easy to ride. The route was very flat and roads were generally very quiet, I felt safe all the time.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words! We are thrilled you enjoyed the quiet route through Old Town and felt safe throughout. It’s great to hear Farm’s flexibility made your solo ride along the canal so special. We take pride in our well-maintained bikes and expert guides. Your experience perfectly captures the seamless, professional service we strive for. We hope to welcome you back soon!

An excellent trip around the old city
We booked our trip from the UK before flying out and the reviews on Tripadvisor helped us make the decision to book this particular tour, The bikes are very good and we had been asked to provide our height so when we arrived, the bikes had already been selected and set up to our particular measurements. We chose to take our own cycle helmets, but these are provided for you, as is a bottle of water. The bikes are very good quality and you do not need to worry about changing up and down the gears because the ride is at a very relaxed pace. Our guide Don was really friendly and very knowledgeable about the old city and gave us lots of information on the route about the history of Chiang Mai and the various temples. We only visited 3 plus the old gates around the city which is surrounded by a moat. We firstly visited the local morning market and then discovered Chiang Mai was holding its annual flower festival so we were able to see all the flower floats parading through the old town and view the stunning flower displays in the park. We had a coffee/juice stop and it was great to chat with the other couple in our group who came from Munich and learn also about their country. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and can highly recommend this trip.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your lovely review! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the tailored bike setup and Don’s insights into Chiang Mai’s history. It’s wonderful that your visit coincided with the Flower Festival—truly a magical sight! We pride ourselves on creating these seamless, social, and memorable experiences. We hope to welcome you back for another ride soon.

Why this scores 83
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Chiang Mai: Historic Old City Bike Tour - Morning or Night: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.
How much does Chiang Mai: Historic Old City Bike Tour - Morning or Night cost?
+
Prices start at $39 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chiang Mai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Chiang Mai: Historic Old City Bike Tour - Morning or Night take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chiang Mai is not rushed.
Is Chiang Mai: Historic Old City Bike Tour - Morning or Night worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 210 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Chiang Mai: Historic Old City Bike Tour - Morning or Night?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Chiang Mai: Historic Old City Bike Tour - Morning or Night suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Chiang Mai: Historic Old City Bike Tour - Morning or Night?
+
Around 74 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Chiang Mai: Historic Old City Bike Tour - Morning or Night start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?
+
On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
