1. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

   Enjoy a comfortable morning pickup from your accommodation around 8:30 AM and head toward Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, one of Chiang Mai’s most revered and iconic temples. Located on the mountainside at an elevation of approximately 3,520 feet (1,056 meters) above sea level, the temple offers breathtaking views of Chiang Mai and the surrounding countryside. Take in the scenic mountain views along the way as you make your way up Doi Suthep. A popular Thai saying goes, “If you haven’t seen Doi Suthep, you haven’t been to Chiang Mai.” The saying reflects the temple’s importance as one of the city’s most beloved cultural and spiritual landmarks. At the temple, admire the magnificent golden chedi and beautiful Lanna-style architecture, and enjoy sweeping panoramic views of Chiang Mai from the temple grounds. The combination of its spiritual significance, stunning architecture, and spectacular mountain scenery makes Doi Suthep a must-see destination in Chiang Mai.

2. Continue to a local Hmong hill tribe village where you'll learn about their traditional way of life. Check out the residents' colorful clothing and feel free to bargain for unique handicrafts at the small shops lining the narrow path. Walk up to the beautiful hill garden filled with vibrant, colorful flowers and enjoy fantastic scenic views. You can also rent a traditional Hmong costume for 50 THB (at your own expense) for fun photos. Before heading back down, relax at a lovely hilltop café overlooking the village—be sure to try the locally grown hill tribe coffee and fresh strawberries!

4. Umbrella Village - Bor Sang

   Take a short 20 to 30-minute drive to the famous Bo Sang Handicraft Centre. Meet local artisans who handcraft traditional paper umbrellas—beautifully designed and magically impervious to rain. Watch the entire process, from crafting bamboo struts and stretching paper to hand-painting intricate patterns. You can even bring a personal item (like a phone case, hat, or bag) for an artist to paint a custom design on the spot!

5. Sankampaeng Hot Springs

   Unwind at the lush Sankampaeng Hot Springs, a beautiful park with vibrant gardens and peaceful green space. Try the local tradition of boiling eggs in bamboo baskets directly in the 105°C thermal springs, then roll up your pants to soak your feet in the warm foot bath. Beyond the foot bath, you can choose from a variety of relaxing options on-site, including private mineral bath facilities, and a mineral swimming pool. Relax like a local before heading back to Chiang Mai.
