Excellent service from our tour company

The views and the tour operator was outstanding. Also the Blue Water Grill had great food and views despite the rain.

    Missing a little magic

The shuttle service to and from our hotel was prompt and courteous. We picked up our ferry tickets at the terminal and the ride over to the island was nice and we even got to see some dolphins! We opted to do the Discover Avalon tour. In the booking details, it said we would be in a group of no more than 9 but that pertained to the shuttle service. Obviously the ferry had multiple people, but I was surprised that we were on a bus with 15 people. We filled up the bus and the seats were comfy but I didn’t get to see very much because I sat in the back. Our driver Rob was professional albeit full of dad jokes and recommended a good place to eat close by. I wish we had did a golf cart tour on our own. We didn’t get a chance to take any photos outside of the bus. The vistas were beautiful but I only have photos of it with peoples heads in it. If we had at least one stop to take photos outside of the bus I would have given this experience 5 stars but staying on the bus took the magic away from it.

Great day just needed better communication

Great experience. The bus ride around with Laura was fantastic and really made the day. The only improvement I can suggest is better communication as we were unsure where the ride started. However for a great day away from the hustle of LA and to have a relaxing day in a pleasant place with lots of eateries this is the place.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for leaving a positive review. You should have received a link to a map with instructions. Looking at the history of the reservation, it shows the email was sent to you. We greatly apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused not knowing where to check in for your tour. We are so happy you enjoyed the great day away from the hustle of LA.

    Into the Pacifica

Nice tour into the ocean and island . The tour starts from a place around 15 min drive from Santa Monica. The cruise ship is comfortable and they serve beer and snack. The ride is 1 hour each side . The island is cute , small one and reminds oyih of old days of ships and boats. We also had underwater sea experience where they feed fishes and you will all kinds of fishes at sea bed. Nice food and eateries

Catalina Island Day Trip from Anaheim Hotels with Discover Avalon Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Anaheim.

How much does Catalina Island Day Trip from Anaheim Hotels with Discover Avalon Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $240 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Anaheim usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Catalina Island Day Trip from Anaheim Hotels with Discover Avalon Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Anaheim is not rushed.

Is Catalina Island Day Trip from Anaheim Hotels with Discover Avalon Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Anaheim, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Catalina Island Day Trip from Anaheim Hotels with Discover Avalon Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Catalina Island Day Trip from Anaheim Hotels with Discover Avalon Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Catalina Island Day Trip from Anaheim Hotels with Discover Avalon Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Anaheim can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Anaheim and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Catalina Island Day Trip from Anaheim Hotels with Discover Avalon Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Anaheim within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Anaheim?

    +

Anaheim's activity market is built around Disneyland Resort and Knott's Berry Farm, then widens into Angels games, brewery crawls in the Packing District and easy runs to Laguna and Newport beaches. Skip-the-line timing and park-hopper detail matter more here than anywhere else in California, so we weight logistics heavily. On Outty we rank every Anaheim experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Iconic Sights of LA, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Beaches and More, 60 Minute Adventures at The Escape Game in Orange, Anaheim to LA: Hollywood, Beaches & Famous Film Sites tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Anaheim?

    +

March to May and September to November, when park crowds ease and days stay warm. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Anaheim?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
