Disorganized tour operator, consider someone else, restaurant experience was fine:)

We booked this method of getting to the restaurant because it was supposed to be trouble free and convenient. We contacted the tour operator before our trip started and a few days prior to confirm our pick up time (17:00) and reservation. The day of our booking, we were messaged at 12:30 that we would be picked up at 13:30 to go to a cultural village! An hour was spent with our hotel staff and we were unable to reach the company by phone. Responses through the message app were slow. Eventually the driver showed up at 13:30 and put me on the phone with his boss who tried to say we had booked a tour including the cultural village. (Intensive review of our booking on Viator shows no mention of this.) We were told our supper booking was for 17:00 and we needed to leave at 16:30 due to traffic which we agreed to do. Upon arriving at 17:00 the restaurant staff informed us our reservation was for 18:00, showed us their phone logs and reservation information forwarded by the tour operator and told us they had clearly informed him Earlier Today! That they did not open for supper until 18:00. We had to wait an hour at the bar before eating. The restaurant was what you would expect and we have no complaints about it. I leave it up to you to decide if this is the company you want to trust with your arrangements.

Response from the operator: Hello J Rojer P We appreciate your review however it is too unfair to complain when our driver came early The package had bomas of kenya tour Rhats why we came to pick you for Bomas show nd later the dinner We had reserved the dinner for you however i have never seen a guest complain of early pick up Again we Appreciate and we appologize for the issue

Avoid this company

It’s not often I get such poor service but this one was a doozy. The tour company confirmed in writing a 5pm pick-up to the restaurant. On the day of, at 1230 told us we were leaving at 1330 to see the bomas of Kenya. When challenged in writing company representative James wrote a pick for 1730. Then the driver showed up at 1330 anyways. When we finally got James on the phone he said we were to leave at 1600, then 1630. He then gaslighted me and told me I booked the bomas of Kenya tour and there was no problem. The problem was he kept changing our timings and trying to add a tour that we didn’t book. When I looked up the tour and said it was simply a ride to the restaurant he claimed I was wrong. Then he made the poor driver wait from 1330 to 1630 to wait for us. We get to the restaurant at 1700 and it wasn’t even open. Dinner starts at 1800. The manager apologized and said he spoke to James and specifically told him the time. This was simply James’ way of ensuring we would be punished for declining to go the the bomas for which he would have gotten a commission. Avoid this company. James is dishonest and out to lunch. Hire a taxi to go to this restaurant and make your own reservation if you want to go. The restaurant was good but service was super slow.

Rip off

First of all the cost for this service is to taxi you to and from the Restaurant. The meal is NOT included. This 30 dollar ride only cost 8 dollars by Uber. We made reservations for 12 noon but was booked by this agency for an evening reservation. After we called to complain about not being picked up- they apologized and said they would change the reservation time. We took an Uber over to Carnivore and while in transit we made reservations as well. When we arrived we checked to see if they had made the reservations and they had- which cost 30 dollars because I only received a partial refund.

Response from the operator: Sorry for the mix up the dinner costs 32 usd Sorry again

Carnivore Restaurant: A Unique Eating Experience in Nairobi: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.

How much does Carnivore Restaurant: A Unique Eating Experience in Nairobi cost?

+

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Carnivore Restaurant: A Unique Eating Experience in Nairobi take?

+

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.

Is Carnivore Restaurant: A Unique Eating Experience in Nairobi worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Carnivore Restaurant: A Unique Eating Experience in Nairobi?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Carnivore Restaurant: A Unique Eating Experience in Nairobi suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Carnivore Restaurant: A Unique Eating Experience in Nairobi?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Carnivore Restaurant: A Unique Eating Experience in Nairobi start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Nairobi?

+

On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 days group joining safari to Maasai Mara with a Land Cruiser Jeep, 1 Day trip to Hells Gate and optional Lake Naivasha From Nairobi, Nairobi Masai village Day Tour Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nairobi?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nairobi?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
