    A trip through Cappadocia

It was an incredible experience, from watching the balloon inflate and all that this entails to enjoy this beautiful ride. Thank you to everyone who makes this dream come true.

    Not worth the money

This tour fell far short of my expectations, especially on the second day. The first day was pleasant, with a scenic tour of Cappadocia and its beautiful landscapes. However, the second day was a complete disappointment. I booked the trip hoping for a magical hot air balloon experience, as described—"a panoramic flight over the region’s iconic fairy tale chimneys." Unfortunately, it was nothing like that. The bus arrived late, causing us to miss the sunrise entirely. To make matters worse, we were taken to an unscheduled breakfast stop, further delaying our itinerary. When we finally arrived for the balloon ride, the location was so far from the fairy tale chimneys that we didn’t get to see them at all. Instead, the view was plain and lackluster. The schedule didn’t match what was promised, and the experience felt disorganized. Additionally, there was no "cave hotel" as advertised. I stayed in a stone-themed bed and breakfast, which was nice, but the check-in and check-out times were poorly managed. Upon arriving in Cappadocia, I had no chance to rest due to the late check-in, and the early check-out on the second day left me with hours to fill after the tour, despite having paid for the hotel. I ended up waiting at a travel office, exhausted from the tour. While the tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable, the overall experience was far from worth the price. The tour did not reflect the photos or description at all. If you're considering this trip, save yourself the trouble and book the hotels, flights, tours, and balloon ride independently.

Response from the operator: Hello Sir, first of all thank you for your evaluation but you were late for the balloon time due to the bus ticket you bought. We came to your hotel and looked for you but we could not find you. We made a reservation for the balloon on the day you told us. We were unable to join the balloon because you bought your ticket for the bus late. I hope you will not experience such an unfortunate event again. Thank you for your comment.

Unforgettable Cappadocia Adventure with Outstanding Support from Old City Travel (Azmi)

The "2 Days Cappadocia Tour" organized by Old City Travel was absolutely unforgettable! From start to finish, the experience was flawlessly executed, and a huge part of that was thanks to Azmi’s exceptional support and care throughout the trip. He went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves, sharing his extensive knowledge and passion for the region with us. Every detail, from the breathtaking hot air balloon ride to exploring the stunning valleys and unique rock formations, was perfectly arranged. Azmi's personal touch and attentiveness made the tour feel truly special. Highly recommended!

    Amazing tour, poor logistics

The tour in Cappadocia was amazing and the tour guide Mr. Ali was informative, cheerful and amazing guy. The Balloon ride had spectacular views with weather favouring us throughout. I had a big issue with the transportation logistics as it was part of the package, yet from cappadocia hotel yo kayseri airport they deviated the agreed timing without flexibility and from Sabeha airport back to hotel, i had to take a taxi on my own accord after waiting for more than 30mins, the driver being a no show and text messages going unanswered

    Great organization and invigorating experience

We had a great experience with this tour. First of all, organization and scheduling was impeccable. Once we booked the tour with TAS Turkey Travel, Huseyin was in touch, sending the itinerary and the details of the upcoming trip via WhatsApp. He sent us a message the day before the trip with the time we will be picked up from our Istanbul hotel and instructions of what to do at the Kayseri airport. The driver was on time (4:15 AM) and took us to the airport. We used our passports to check in and flew to Kayseri . There was a driver at Kayseri waiting for us. Every step was taken care of by Huseyin. We were notified about the next step ahead of time. We did have a small issue, so we texted Huseyin - he responded immediately and took care of it, made sure we understand everything, assured us the we will be OK. The Green and Red Cappadocia tours that were reserved for us by TAS Travel were really great: we saw and experienced many unusual and interesting places. The Green tour was physically demanding. The underground city has some narrow passages that could be challenging for some people. My husband, 6'4" decided not go through the narrowest of them, so he was just waiting for us to come back, but he still was able to go through the bigger passages, ho he didn't feel left out. I, 5'10" went through them while bending in half. The Red tour also has opportunities to climb up those caves, which is challenging, but very invigorating and satisfactory. Yes, we visited gift shops, leather shop, and ceramics shop over the two days, some of it was annoying because they really want you to buy their product, but this was a minor inconvenience. The photo opportunities are endless on both trips. And of course, the balloon flight! It was perfect! One tip: When you arrive to Kayseri, the driver is supposed to take you to the hotel first, but he picks up people from the other flights, so you might be waiting for a long time before he starts driving you. This happened to us and we missed the hotel check in. So we called Huseyin and he arranged for the driver to take us to the first stop of the tour. It was not a big deal, we didn't miss anything. I think if we told the driver that we have an early morning excursion, he would take us to the hotel on time. I recommend this tour with TAS Travel to everyone. We loved it!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing this beautiful expression with us. Remember that we will always be happy to host you as Tas Turkiye Travel Family. Take care of yourself, see you again.

Cappadocia 1 Night 2 Days Tour from Istanbul by Plane and Balloon Ride: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Istanbul.

How much does Cappadocia 1 Night 2 Days Tour from Istanbul by Plane and Balloon Ride cost?

    +

Prices start at $750 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Istanbul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cappadocia 1 Night 2 Days Tour from Istanbul by Plane and Balloon Ride take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Istanbul is not rushed.

Is Cappadocia 1 Night 2 Days Tour from Istanbul by Plane and Balloon Ride worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Istanbul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cappadocia 1 Night 2 Days Tour from Istanbul by Plane and Balloon Ride?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cappadocia 1 Night 2 Days Tour from Istanbul by Plane and Balloon Ride suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cappadocia 1 Night 2 Days Tour from Istanbul by Plane and Balloon Ride?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Istanbul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Istanbul and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cappadocia 1 Night 2 Days Tour from Istanbul by Plane and Balloon Ride start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Istanbul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Istanbul?

    +

On Outty we rank every Istanbul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Istanbul 1, 2 or 3-Day Private Guided Istanbul Tour, Istanbul Luxury Bosphorus Yacht Cruise with Asian Side Stop, ISTANBUL BEST: Iconic Landmarks Full Day PRIVATE Guided City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Istanbul?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Istanbul?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
