    Poor communication

I am giving this business two stars because I feel there was a serious lack of communication with customers. I sent multiple messages to the support number listed on Viator with questions and to confirm my booking, but I never received a response. Additionally, the company called me multiple times about a day when I was not even scheduled to be at the airport. Ironically, on the day I was actually supposed to be picked up from my hotel, I did not receive a single phone call or message before the driver left. I was expecting a call or message letting me know that the driver had arrived, but I received nothing. When the driver still had not arrived 20 minutes later, I tried calling the company, but the call went straight to voicemail. I was never connected with my individual driver; the only contact information I had was the general company number listed on Viator. I booked this as a round-trip service, and I honestly wish I hadn't. Because of the lack of communication and the missed pickup, I essentially had to figure out my own transportation back to the airport from my hotel. My experience with the initial airport pickup was okay, but even then, it was filled with uncertainty. I never received any communication from the company before arriving at the airport, despite messaging them beforehand to confirm my booking. I ended up simply going outside and hoping that the driver would be there. Overall, the biggest issue was the lack of communication. I understand that things can occasionally go wrong, but customers should be kept informed, especially when transportation and airport schedules are involved. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not book this service again.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the difficulties you encountered during your reservation. While your initial airport transfer was completed as planned, the communication and follow-up provided afterward fell short of the level of service we aim to deliver. The matter has been addressed with the appropriate operations and reservations teams to reinforce our communication and scheduling procedures and help prevent similar incidents in the future. Cancun Travel Experience Team remains committed to providing reliable transportation and professional customer service.

    Airport Transfer Rip Off

Watch out. Booked a roundtrip transfer specifying the resort we are staying at on their site. Paid in advance. Got to Cancun and looked for the driver for over 45 min. No show. Called Viator and the rep told me we had to pay $80 more since the hotel is outside of hotel zone. I specified the resort and location on the web and paid for the price shown. Driver finally came and again asked for $80 more. Told Viator rep to cancel and took another transfer service for less money. Wasted our valuable vacation time. What a rip off.

Response from the operator: We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with your transfer. Please note that Viator offers different transfer options depending on the hotel location (Hotel Zone, Costa Mujeres, Playa del Carmen or Tulum). It is important to select the correct area when booking to ensure the service is provided without any additional charges. We understand how this may have disrupted your plans and truly regret the impact on your vacation time. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at info@cancuntravelexperience.com. We are here to help.

Cancun Airport: Shuttle Cancun or Playa del Carmen Hotels: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Cancun Airport: Shuttle Cancun or Playa del Carmen Hotels cost?

    +

Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cancun Airport: Shuttle Cancun or Playa del Carmen Hotels take?

    +

Plan for about 0.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Cancun Airport: Shuttle Cancun or Playa del Carmen Hotels worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 549 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cancun Airport: Shuttle Cancun or Playa del Carmen Hotels?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cancun Airport: Shuttle Cancun or Playa del Carmen Hotels suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cancun Airport: Shuttle Cancun or Playa del Carmen Hotels?

    +

Around 192 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 0.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cancun Airport: Shuttle Cancun or Playa del Carmen Hotels start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
