    BRILLIANT BAJA

Had a couple of brilliant ocean safari trips with the Apex Ocean boys in Baja earlier this month. First cruise we saw and swam with some pan tropical spotted dolphins and a sea otter. Second trip we cruised way out and found some more dolphins and ended up spending some time snorkeling with a curious silky shark. Both times the guides were awesome. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Made me feel welcome as a solo traveler. And provided great photos and videos post safari. Would definitely recommend as a must do!

    Amazing ocean safari

This was an amazing experience, our tour guide Alex was fun and engaging the whole time as well as informative on how to interact with the various marine life we encountered. While tour was outstanding, they even provided burritos which were 10/10. Thank you Alex and your crew :)

    Experience of a lifetime!

What a magical experience! We went on a private tour with our two 18 yr old sons and were completely blown away by the experience. I loved the style of the tour where it was scenic views with knowledgable and charming guides who cared deeply for these animals and ensured we were being respectful of their space and comfort levels. But still getting so close to them all! We saw mating turtles (both from the boat and in the water) and schools of manta rays (both flying through the air as if performing just for us! As well as below us when we hopped into the water with our snorkel gear). All in all a magical experience. With delicious chicken burritos to tide us over during this amazing adventure. Muchísimas gracias, Alex and team!! 🫶

    Apex review

Just returned from an amazing time in La Ventana with Apex - the location (both on land and in the water) is absolutely stunning, the crew are all beyond amazing (special shout out to Andrea, Isabell, and Endry!), and most importantly, the marine life interactions are done responsibly and with the animals welfare as the top priority. The ocean gifted us with some amazing encounters. Thanks Apex!

Cabo Whale Watching and Open Ocean Snorkeling: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cabo San Lucas.

How much does Cabo Whale Watching and Open Ocean Snorkeling cost?

    +

Prices start at $252 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cabo San Lucas usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cabo Whale Watching and Open Ocean Snorkeling take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cabo San Lucas is not rushed.

Is Cabo Whale Watching and Open Ocean Snorkeling worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 235 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cabo San Lucas, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cabo Whale Watching and Open Ocean Snorkeling?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cabo Whale Watching and Open Ocean Snorkeling suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cabo Whale Watching and Open Ocean Snorkeling?

    +

Around 82 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cabo San Lucas can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cabo San Lucas and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cabo Whale Watching and Open Ocean Snorkeling start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cabo San Lucas within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cabo San Lucas?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cabo San Lucas experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cabo San Lucas Mexican Cooking Class Experience and Local Markets, Cabo Beach Camel Ride, Mexican Buffet and Tequila Tasting, Cabo Whale Watching: Female Crew, Guaranteed Sightings, Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cabo San Lucas?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cabo San Lucas?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Cabo Whale Watching and Open Ocean Snorkeling?

    +

Included: Bottled water; Photos & Videos of the Experience; Snacks; Use of snorkeling equipment; and Guide. Not included: Gratuities. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

    +

What languages is Cabo Whale Watching and Open Ocean Snorkeling offered in?
