Stupid. Don't waste your time.
The directions are ridiculous, incomplete, and in some cases wrong. When you eventually find a stop, the clues are unintelligible and blatantly wrong in some cases. Then the clues and the answer have nothing to do with the ghost story. Worst, you can't even move on quickly. You have to wait 10 minutes before it will show you the answer so you can move on to the next stupid place. I wish I had set fire to my $8 instead of wasting my time on my vacation trying to do this.
Response from the operator: I checked your game play, and you started the quest, completed the first challenge, and then stopped at the second one. It's like rating a movie after the first 10 minutes. As for the 10 minutes time, it's not 10, it's actually 3 min, and it's a rule in the app that prevents players from cheating, and getting all the answers to complete first. As for the directions, you have both directions and a map, so it's impossible to get lost. With that being said, I am sorry you didn't enjoy!

Cute idea but not for everybody
The idea was very cute, we did the first 4 stops but it didn’t click with us and we were not involved. I think this works better when you are in 2 people only
Response from the operator: Thank you for giving the Bucharest Ghost Hunt a try, and for sharing your honest thoughts! I completely understand that our gamified style of exploring might not click with everyone, and it is totally okay that this one wasn't the perfect fit for your group. I really appreciate your feedback regarding the group size. While many larger groups do enjoy solving the puzzles together, you make a great point. Sometimes, playing in a smaller group of just two people allows for a more immersive and engaging experience, as it is easier to share the screen, read the spooky stories together, and stay fully involved in the mystery. We'd love to see you trying another quest in a smaller group.

not great experience
I struggled to find things the instructions on some of the places were really not good enough, probably better as a group task? I got so frustrated I gave up in the end, as i didn’t complete it was a waste of money for me but i like the idea
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the experience didn’t meet your expectations and that you had difficulties with the instructions. Your comments are very valuable, and we’re always working to improve our quests so they can be enjoyed both solo and in groups. We’d love to make this right for you — please feel free to reach out to us directly so we can follow up.

Feel Haunted
Interesting points and stories about different places in the centre of Bucharest. I liked the story about Bazar building.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review! We're glad you enjoyed the ghostly side of Bucharest and found the stories engaging—especially the one about the Bazar building. It's always great to hear which parts stand out. Hope you'll join us again for another adventure in a different city!

Recommend this to really get you out and about and thinking
This is such good fun. We had a few problems getting it started as it wouldn’t recognise my booking or email. After connecting Questo, in less than ten mins they had sorted it, no problem at all. The clues were good, weren’t hard but you did have to search. I really hope they do a few more in lots of different countries including uk
Response from the operator: Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m glad our team resolved the login issue quickly and that you enjoyed the clues. You’ll find Questo quests in many UK cities—London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, York, and more with new ones launching regularly. Hope to see you on another adventure soon!

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Bucharest: Ghost Hunt Quest Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bucharest.
How much does Bucharest: Ghost Hunt Quest Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $7 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bucharest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Bucharest: Ghost Hunt Quest Experience take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bucharest is not rushed.
Is Bucharest: Ghost Hunt Quest Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 36 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bucharest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Bucharest: Ghost Hunt Quest Experience?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Bucharest: Ghost Hunt Quest Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Bucharest: Ghost Hunt Quest Experience?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bucharest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bucharest and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Bucharest: Ghost Hunt Quest Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bucharest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bucharest?
+
On Outty we rank every Bucharest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Real tour of Communism, Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour, Top Gear Road, Small-group max 7 pax with Pick-up, Transfăgărăşan. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bucharest?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bucharest?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
